Billy Beane must have nightmares about Donaldson.

Nothing makes me happier than a 9 game win streak coupled with a massive comeback against the lamest team in all of pro sports. The Red Sox deserve nothing but the taste of defeat.

Only the second time this season in 144 games that a team with a 7+ run lead has lost. Suck it Boston!

That Donaldson for Lawrie trade looks more favourable for us each and every game

Donaldson is on pace for 44 HR, 39 2B, and his OPS is almost .100 than his career best. His WAR is already at 3.9 and is on pace for higher than 10 (10.19), which would rate as the 149th best season any baseball player has ever had. Only 3 players that are currently playing have ever had a season better than that (A-Rod, Grienke, and Trout)
Lawrie has 5 HR and his OPS is .270 less than Donaldson at .694. His WAR is 0.2, and is on pace for a 0.55 WAR season.
Even if the other players become above average MLB players, this trade was ridiculously lopsided and may in fact be one of the worst trades in major league history.

Jays playing well enough to suck everybody back in just to tank near the end or a legit turn around? Still think they need another decent starter but the pitching has been good lately. Finely, hitting and pitching coming around at the same time.
Can't say enough about Donaldson, great player with a great attitude. Hates to lose and it shows. Doesn't seem to sulk like Jose. Hard nosed, hard working player. Just what this team needed.

Yeah, been a while since able to watch a full game, but unlike past years, the AL East really doesn't have that one or two teams that looks to be a shoe-in.
BJ's have needed pitching for 1.5 years, and were promised help at the All Star break last year, and never got it, or got it since, even with one of their starters going down before the season started...there is a definite need for as many decent arms as poissible if they're going on a pennant chase in August and beyond.
But yeah, remove Lawrie and his Red Bull attitude, and maybe shake up the Dominicans by having Melky move on, and replacing with strong character in Martin and Donaldson, and the peices are there on offense (who have been performing well all season), as is the attitude..it comes down to the pitching.
AA and Rogers can't cheap out this year at the deadline if this team is where its at and the division is still where it's at, to get the pitching and bench depth.

After tomorrow's game, the next 13 games are against teams that are > than .500 before facing the Red Sox again.
July is the easiest month on the schedule with only a couple difficult series. August is a bit of a bear and September is actually easier.
It'll be interesting to see how they respond. The first two months and August were the three hardest months of the season.

I love how everyone just thinks AA needs money to make all these deals happen and that its all Rogers fault.
I imagine it's a bit harder for the Jays to attract talent to Toronto then just a being the highest bidder

People are talking about trades, and trades for UFA most likely. Players on bad teams usually are happy to go anywhere with a playoff spot.
AA has said many times the Jays have a strict budget to adhere to

Bit frustrating that we go on a 10-0 streak and everyone else but Boston is 7-3.
Seven quality starts during this streak too.
