Wow Dustin had seemingly an easy volley to win the match and he lets it go and it lands in. He has to serve this out or I think he'll probably fall apart.

But Dustin closes it out anyways. Rafa now has only 6 wins at Wimbledon in the last 4 years. I think the fact Dustin was playing fast all day on his serve really threw Nadal off. Amazing win for Dustin.

Rasta beats Rafa definitely the headline du jour tomorrow. Nadal has now been bounched 4 years in a row by a sub 100 player, and this is his first loss ever to a qualifier in a major. And Dustin amazingly played 4 hours of doubles yesterday. No doubt he earned this one.

the end of Rafa on grass happened a few years ago already. the end of Rafa on clay, which really would spell the end, I will believe when he loses the French to a non-Djokovic opponent.
the retirement watch will certainly be out in full force either way, but I see him hanging on till at least the end of next year to have another crack at the Olympics.

The Olympic tournament will be on cement. I don't think his knees will take that well.

Nadal is sort of in a catch-22 right now: he needs to up his ranking which means he needs to play more....but he damages his body playing more and would benefit from a reduced schedule....which ensures he can't improve his ranking.
More than anything he needs a new approach to playing tennis and a new coach most likely to do that. Not sure he can swallow his pride and do that. But the grinder style that got him here is the style that ensures he can't stay healthy. The reason Federer is still going at 34 is he adapted his game to try and play more quick points. We'll see if Rafa can do the same.

the difference is Roger came on to the scene as an attacking serve and volleyer...his 2001 classic against Pete, nobody ever stayed behind the baseline. so in a way he's almost returning to his roots a bit.
Rafa came out of the womb hitting loopy shots from the back court, so if he somehow does a 180 on that I would be very impressed.

everybody is all over rafa for being ranked #10, losing early in GS etc..
but nobody mentions that similar things happened to Murray and Federer not long ago being ranked 7 and 11. he's one of the best if not the best to have ever played at this sport, he will fight back and he will win more GS. this is not the end of nadal. it's just in his head at the moment… and im sure he will fight his way out of it like he did in 2009.
and he has no more points to defend this year, or very few, so he does not need to play more tournaments. one of the reasons he is ranked 10 is because he missed the second half of last year.

Kyrgios talking to himself throwing his racquet, joking around and Milos is like a robot. No expression on his face at all. It's an entertaining match at least.

Kyrgios is serving absurdly good right now. Milos can't win unless we see some dip in the Kyrgios serve. Won 18 of his last 19 points on serve.

That is crazy. Commentators are correct. Milos doesn't defend well, certainly not in this match at least.
