I'll be at Indian Wells later this week to do some paparazzi action on our favorite players. you can request pictures of any anybody you want, as long as it's Genie.
Could I please have a picture of Genie? And maybe one of Miss Bouchard.

If you're going to a practice session....Tommy Haas I mean....have a good time!

Darn, that's a shame, especially when Genie was positioned for a deep run in the tourney. Oh well, as mentioned above, just hope she learns from it moving forward.
Raonic just beat Murray in three sets: 4-6, 7-5, 6-3. Milos gets Dolgopolov in the QFs.
Edit: He gets the big win on the 20th anniversary of his family's move to Canada. Great day indeed
Really a gutsy tournament from Milos thus far. Coming back from a very tough injury it would have been very easy to have rolled over and gone home much earlier.
He's knocking on a few players feet in the rankings again now if he can win another round here. The door is definitely wide open for him to make some noise with Rafa out of the mix.

Sorry Mango, Haas didn't last long enough...also hope nobody was waiting for more shirtless Rafa shots.
Super pumped for Milos today though...Dolgo is just so weird. That mega fast service motion would mess me up on a return. Guess that's why I'm not on the tour.

Milos is hooped! He struggles with slow service motions what is he possibly going to do against a fast one

This is probably one of the worst matches I can remember seeing him play after such a great couple of matches earlier in the tournament.
There's really no reason he should be losing the second set, doing it all to himself. You really have to shake your head when you see him have a guy on the ropes like that and let him off the hook over and over.

Rough day for Milos, he had nothing going on. Couldn't serve for crap. Dolgopolov certainly has a face you want to punch.
Even still, he should have taken that match to a third set no problem considering the way he started the second set. You never know what happens against a player like dolgopolov in that instance. His game did not looks so bad that he couldn't have salvaged the match if not for some terrible shot selection and repeated blunders on advantage throughout.
The Raonic camp needs to get back to the drawing board and figure out how to get passed these hiccups. There was a glorious opportunity to make a major move in this tournament and to lose out like that has to be pretty deflating.

Just watched second set and wow what a poor effort. He was just stabbing at the ball getting it into play instead of actually taking shots. When he did try to make shots he put them into the middle of the court. What a poor showing
Looks like Canada has got another pretty good prospect coming in the men's game, the highest ranked freshman in US NCAA tennis, Brayden Schnur. 9-0 in singles play, dropped two sets all year. Another huge kid at 6'3". Haven't heard how Peliwo is doing this year but a ton of talent coming through for Canadian tennis atm.
ok, here's my official advertisement for the BNP Paribas Open, aka Indian Wells, aka Larry Ellison's very expensive gift to tennis. The world's 5th richest person reaches deep into his pockets for this tournament and it shows. I've only been to USO and Rogers Cup previously, but I'm confident in declaring the facilities at IW to be the cream of the crop. If you're a fan of the sport and want to do a tennis vacation, go to this one first. Lounging in the Palm Springs area on your days off isn't so bad either.
spoiler'd for length...
Spoiler!
so here's the evidence, starting off with the grounds. Palm trees, mountain backdrop, fantastic restaurants/shopping, Brita water bottle refilling stations. Not much more you could ask for.
The main stadium is the 3rd largest venue in the world behind Arthur Ashe and O2 Arena, but you still feel close enough to the players even at the top. Contrast that with AA where it's like watching ants hit a grain of sand back and forth when you're in the bleeders.
Cibulkova serving to Li Na. For those looking for more WTnA hottie pictures, I apologize but essentially all the pinups were eliminated by the time I got there. No Genie Army for me this year.
Li giving her customary "let's make fun of my dumb husband" interview
After seeing Milos in two separate tourneys, I can conclude that it's impossible to take a graceful shot of him in action.
Gears ground from all the suckage he's producing against Dolgopolov
The Maestro with his weird faded orange/salmon kicks. At least it was just the shoes, they made Rafa put on a shirt with the same colour scheme.
TMF has mastered tennis, but unfortunately not the art of sucking in for a picture
Berdych on the other hand...says "Hi" to all his fans on CalgaryPuck
Seriously H&M, please give poor Tomas something a bit less tacky to wear, maybe without his own signature. Or at least made of a dri-fit material.
John "Treebeard" Isner. Right before this shot, the guy in red yelled something about releasing The Kraken (probably).
Dolgo practicing before his date with Fed, perhaps a little too vigorously...
...because he sure didn't look like he had anything left for the actual match
Yeah, that patented calm Roger face exists on every single shot
I never got tired of watching the flying camera swoop around the stadium, getting those cool angles you see on TV during changeovers
Nole whiffs on an Isner missile, which is totally understandable even for the world's best returner
In the end though, the behemoth was slain. Djoker goes on to win the title the next day and possibly get his disappointing season back on track.

appreciate updates and discussion from anyone who's into tennis, but wonder what happened to Girly...she normally drives the bus for these threads but I don't think has been around for like a month now.
all the more reason to cheer on them Canadian kids and keep this place hopping I guess...
