My blood pressure is just now returning to normal! After watching the mayhem that was allowed for most of the game and all of the 3rd period, to have Hjammer's apparent GWG waved off for such a weak call against Saad was unbelievable.
The sequence where Filppula got hurt was an indication of how loosely this game was alledgedly controlled by two "veteran" officials...Shaw went to give Zetterberg some of the same treatment the Wings had given Toews all series, a push and a crosscheck (with not much striking power behind it)....Zetterberg responds with a spear to the 'nads...Cleary, from the bench gets a shot in (as he did later on the Saad/Quincey scrum)...Filppula grabs and wrestles Shaw for a bit...Shaw, while wrestling Filppula, slew foots him by kicking out his skate...Filpulla goes down awkwardly...NO CALLS FOR ANY OF THE ABOVE.
The game itself seemed sloppy, offensively, for both squads. And my guys have to improve their passing against the Kings.
Am just relieved to get by Detroit.
