Someone else said it earlier in this thread - why would we want to hand Edmonton the one big piece of the puzzle that they are missing? A top pairing, experienced Dman still in his twenties is attractive to many teams. I hope Feaster laughs at the greasers if they come calling.

That would be a great return

He must think we're trading them Erik Karlsson with that type of return.

If they offer the best return, I don't care. I don't think Jbo can push a team over the top.

Raymond for Tanguay. I'd do it. Rebuilding team needed to get younger and lose some NTC's. Add to that Raymond is UFA and will likely command the same price tag as Tangs. Lateral move.

I'd rather a pick or a younger RFA. Don't want to overpay Raymond.

And as a Flames fan I hate to say this, but I think the Oilers - with Bouwmeester - make the playoffs next year for sure and they still have an outside shot for this year (though very unlikely)

It is very bold to suggest that Bouwmeester is the missing piece that takes a non playoff team and makes them a playoff team. I trust we don't need to review his playoff resume. Oh. We just did.
He is no upgrade on Ryan Whitney. Send him up and let the curse take over from there

You guys really don't think Jbow could command a heft return if the Flames eat a third of his salary? Call me crazy but I think the return will be pretty substantial.

Wait a second......Bouwmeester is NOT an upgrade on Ryan Whitney? How did you get to that conclusion? Genuine question.

Everything he does to avoid odd man rushes is negated when he is in the slot. He causes a lot of GA. Raffi Torres blew around him. He let Mike Fisher skate between him and Kipper and stand there for the tap in. Etc.
Nobody in the league has been on the ice for even close to as many GA. His elevated offensive contribution can not keep up with his costly defensive gaffes.

Not imagine a player worse in his own zone, a player so bad the Oilers sat him when he was healthy.
There you have Ryan Whitney.

Sure it would be, but there's not a hope in hell of it ever happening. You don't get a 26 year old goalie who's put up the kind of numbers Schneider has since he entered the league for a 33 year old Alex Tanguay:

Oh I know.
I am more surprised that was the asking price. Although, it probably never happened
