Lovely setting Roland Garros. If the sun is shining it'll be glorious viewing.
Take your own food and drink (non-alcoholic), they'll let you. It is very expensive to purchase anything there.
The thing that irritated me the most was how disruptive the crowd was. Talking through serves, whistling at inappropriate times, screaming children being loudly scolded by their parents, moving through aisles and seats during points - all things that you should never see at a Grand Slam tournament. In a 3hr match on Phillippe Chatrier court, I probably heard the umpire say "Silence s'il vous plait" probably 25 times to the crowd.
US Open crowds have the reputation for being overly boisterous, but it is nothing like the crowds at the French.
Having said that, it is a spectacle to behold and a lovely setting.
Have fun.
