Where has Trudeau adopted clear stances on pandering to Quebec? Please be specific and cite actual policy positions he has taken. Include links to your sources.

Note: you will probably find this task very difficult because Trudeau has made very few policy announcements to date (which is a very real and legitimate criticism of him). In the few cases where he has articulated a specific policy, he's taken positions that are favourable to Alberta business (e.g. publicly supporting Keystone XL and the sale of Nexen to CNOOC).

If you cant follow along, Im not gonna debate you.

When he says "us" "we" "our"...he means Quebec specifically as evidenced repeatedly in this very thread.

And like you said...how can it be policy when he doesnt really have any? I can only go off what he says and what he means when he says things.

he is a seperatist in liberal clothing IMO and its reflected in his repeated demagoguery.

Sorry, I dont think that those kind of people are suited for being the PM of canada.

Someone here can't follow along, but it isn't me.

How many times have various posters in this very thread carefully explained to you that Trudeau's comment was not pandering to Quebec? He was asked a question regarding whether or not he supported an elected senate. He said the following:

1. Senate seats are not distributed fairly
2. An elected senate would gain more legitimacy and thus have more power
3. This is to "our" (meaning the citizens of Quebec, as he was speaking to a Quebec journalist) advantage
4. Despite it being to Quebec's advange, he is against an elected senate because it would be unfair to Alberta and BC, two provinces who are currently under-represented in the upper chamber

If you had taken the time to research the full story instead of only reading a single line without the full context, you'd have realized what a non-issue this is and that he was actually taking a pro-Alberta and BC stance by opposing an elected senate without re-proportioning the seats.

MarchHare kudos to you. You're fighting the battle against the bubble types, you must know you can't win yet you fight on, fighting the good fight so that those pesky liberal things know as "Facts" are clearly shown.

You can keep saying it...Im quite simply not gullible enough to buy it.

He said CLEARLY...

Quote:
Trudeau told the Montreal newspaper he doesn’t favour senate abolition because: “We have 24 senators from Quebec and there are just six from Alberta and six from B.C.… That’s to our advantage.”

I know what OUR means in this case, whether you choose to ignore it is up to you.

If he menat it was an unfair advantage, he would have stated so...he didn't.

He is a demagogue and this is yet another example. It comes on the heels of other similar comments about the West and how disadvantageous it is for Quebec that anyone from here be in power. Now you wish me to believe he wants to give the West more of it?

Ha....not a chance.
