If this was really about unfairness of the bailout. Why are they not dogging the guy who happily handed them all that money and benefits the most from their largesse?

Because not everyone is blinded by political affiliation to realize that pretty much anyone in that situation would have done basically the same thing.

It's not empty when I view it - there's a list of 60 different demands.

It doesn't go both ways. One is completely legal and is the main reason this whole movement is so popular (taking photos/video of anyone in public like the media) and the other is criminal harassment.
Huge difference.

Google Docs page is working for me now too, and... wow. They demand the release of all non-violent criminals... but I thought they demanded earlier in the list that white-collar crime be prosecuted? So what, if you're found guilty of a crime that is 'white-collar' in nature, you have to write lines on a chalkboard and pay a fine?
These people are insane.

Whoah! Legal prostitution and government funded massage?
Now I'm firmly behind the Occupy movement. Happy Endings, here we come!

Hrm. Quite the laundry list. But it is *NOT* on the #occupycanada Facebook page. And even the link says that it was a rough draft put out by membership of the #occupyvancouver group. It definitely, as far as I am reading, represent, #occupycanada.
In any case, the problem with having such a huge list is that there is going to be a dozen or more that I am in disagreement with. They should focus on 5 goals.
Some of them are no-brainers. We need stronger whistle-blowing legislation. We should adopt federally what New Brunswick has instituted provincially:
28. Notwithstanding anything in this Act an employer shall not dismiss, suspend, lay off, penalize, discipline or discriminate against an employee if the reason therefor is related in any way to
(b) the making of a complaint or the giving of information or evidence by the employee against the employer with respect to any matter covered by this act; or
(c) the giving of information or evidence by the employee against the employer with respect to the alleged violation of any Provincial or federal Act or regulation by the employer while carrying on the employer's business; or if the dismissal, suspension, layoff, penalty, discipline or discrimination constitutes in any way an attempt by the employer to evade any responsibility imposed upon him under this Act or any other Provincial or federal Act or regulation or to prevent or inhibit an employee from taking advantage of any right or benefit granted to him under this Act.

I haven't followed this whole situation very closely, mainly because I think these protestors are going about making their point in an awful and immature way, but I have to mention that the story about dumping McDonlads applications on their camp in Chicago actually made me laugh. Well played Chicago Trades Board.

Well I found this quite interesting. I was just checking out the political section in the Huffington post this morning and came across an interestingly worded advert from the Oil & Gas Labour-Management Committee.
"Hollywood's 1% are coming to DC"
http://jobsforthe99.com/
Just thought it was an interesting use of the most commonly referenced slogan during the movement.

^ Clever. I thought the same thing when seeing that Julia Louis-Dreyfus spot against the Keystone XL.

I can guarantee you that the police do not take pictures of family members of persons involved in crime. Nor do they release any of the photos/information of those accused unless there is a public safety issue.
So clearly, you are talking out your a$$. Do some research before you make yourself look like a dummy.
|
I'm pretty sure you can't make that guarantee.
That said, doxing and intimidation of the families of even the biggest dbag cop is wrong on any level you can think of.

Garbage post. You're just ducking the point. You can't hide behind the 'we just put the info out there' excuse, you know damn well what the information is used for.
