Disagree with that. If you put a decent QB on the Colts, they win the division. Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark are hall of fame players. Austin Collie, Pierre Garcon and Joseph Addai are above average offensively as well.
On defense, they have two elite pass rushers in Freeney and Mathis. Vinatieri and McAfee are solid in FG and punts as well. Basically Collins sucks and Indy needs someone who is half decent. I would call Garrard right now cause he is better then Collins.
But this does show how valuable Peyton is to the team. He should win the MVP every year based on the definition of the award.

You had Marvin Lewis' play calling to help you. Inept coach.
Who, down by 2, would PUNT on the 36 yard line in Denver!
Denver! Where a 53 yard field goal is like a 45 yard FG anywhere else!

KC has scored 52 total points including preseason points. They lost Charles for the year and they have a good chance making them a partner for 0-16 lions.

If they weren't in such a weak division, I'd say Seattle would get the #1 pick. They have no redeeming qualities to speak of.

Freeney and Mathis are good DEs, Clark is one of the best receiving TEs in the league, Wayne is a really good WR, Bethea is a good Safety when healthy. But they have a weak running game, and Kerry Collins sucks so they can't move the ball downfield, and their defense can't stop much of anything.

All of those players are great, but they mean nothing on offence when you have Kerry Collins making the passes and handling the ball. Indy is going to have win off of defence.
The 0-16 dream season cannot be replicated, the Lions made history. That was a great team. Although it would be pretty fun to cheer on another team going for the perfect season, and KC would really take it up another notch going 0-4 in the pre season, and now 0-16 in the regular season.

I agree that the Falcons did not look like the 14-2 (or whatever they were last year) but they didn't look any worse than the Eagles did.

I thought the O-Line played well. Peters was a beast and it was a complete fluke the way Vick got knocked out of the game. I wasn't expecting a win tonight so I'm not to disappointed. The LBs continue to worry me.

welllllllll.....if the rest of the Colts were so good you would think they could win games themselves? Comparing the Colts of this year to the year Brady got hurt is night and day. The Pats still won with a backup QB and a decent team playing around him. I think the Colts have a great QB and players that look great when Manning is playing. Im not so sure Collins is any worse than the plug the Pats had at QB the year Brady got hurt.

Brady's response to Ex-Pats comments about Ochocinco: "None of those guys have any clue what they're talking about" in other words "Bruschi stfu".

Top 5:
Patriots
Pack
Jets
Saints/Ravens/Steelers?
So I guess that's more of a Top 6...

Its a little early to be making a top 5 list isn't it? Especially after looking at strength of schedule so far.
Jets haven't proven anything against 2 weak teams.
Baltimore crushed Pittsburgh and then got silenced by Tenessee
Pittsburgh got flattened by their biggest divisional rival, then layed the beats to.... Seattle!
The Packers are 2-0, but if they bring the effort they did this week they would have lost to 20 of the league's other teams.

Chiefs fans have to pray that Pioli isn't around for the draft next year, or he will pass on a QB because he already has a Pro Bowl QB in Matt Cassel.
The Chiefs look bad everywhere and there is nothing that can be done to salvage the season. 0-16 looks like a very real possibility, or 0-20 like somebody else pointed out.
I really hope that Clark Hunt has the guts to wipe the slate clean and to start over. The regulars on this thread know my thoughts on Pioli, Haley, and Matt Cassel over the last few seasons. Its pretty evident now that Pioli was nothing more than a pal / relative hired by Belichek to get coffee or make nice spreadsheets for the Patriots. Haley was the flavor of the month when the Cards went to the Super Bowl. Cassel, who I'm sure is trying his best but just doesn't have the talent, was sheltered by BB and a talented Patriots roster.
The Hunt family is famous for not being meddlers when it comes to their Chiefs. Lamar allowed his great franchise to be run into the ground in the 70's only to be salvaged almost 20 years later by Carl Peterson. Then he let Carl have too much authority and power and watched the team slip into mediocrity again 20 years later. The one thing Clark Hunt said he desired when he took over the reins after the passing of his father, was for the Chiefs to have a young franchise QB. Something the Chiefs had never had in their history. Scott Pioli saddled him with Matt Cassel, poor Clark.
Pioli is obviously way over his head. Its time for Mr. Hunt to find a real GM who can make the proper decisions to lead this once proud franchise forward.

I guess if you only choose to look at this year when making a top 5 it's too early, but unlike college football there isn't a high rate of turnover in the NFL from year to year. So based on the early going it looks like most of the top teams are the same. 2 stinkers by Ravens and Steelers isn't enough to remove them from that list as no one else has proven much.

The decade of experience Manning has in running the Colts plays is invaluable. Collins can't go no huddle like Manning can which is a big part of the Colts offensive play.

They have talent at skill positions, but outside of that not much
Mike Lombardi at NFL.com has really pushed this the last few months but the Colts talent around Manning is not very good, go look at their last 5 drafts, all 5 of them are at best a C-
Those elite skill players as well, let's say they are B+ players with Manning, with him gone they probly move down to B-
I think what this Manning injury is showing is that not only his talent but his mind for the game has glossed over what has been a very average Colts team the past few seasons
Freeney and Mathis are great, but pass rushers like that are at their best when you have a lead, the Colts aren't going to have many leads this year with Collins at QB

up until the Vick injury the Eagles offense was moving the ball with ease, I don't think the Eagles are an all star team or anything but they were better than the Falcons
Trent Cole was dominating the Falcons offensive line
The Eagles problem is going to be that any team with a half decent TE is going to be able to do what they want against a very weak group of LB's. But for 3.5 quarters the Eagles were able to shut down Turner, and keep White and Jones in check.
After Vick went down their body language changed, Reid's play calling got too conservative, and it was clear a lot of them didn't think they could win without Vick
I think with a healthy Vick the Eagles go on to win that game 80-90% of the time

we have NFL scouts stay at my hotel and one of them was a chiefs until last year. He said that Haley isn't well liked, nor do they listen to the scouts. (baldwin pick) they need to start all over from the beginning next year.

The Colts are built to win games on offense. Their defense is built to play against teams who are behind the scoreboard and forced to pass often. Now that they can't put up points they are exposed. A very one player dependant team.

Think Miami is decent enough that they squeak out some wins and finish around 5
Indy if Peyton stays away would be a 4 win team I think
KC 3-4
I think Minny still gets to 7-9 wins, they haven't looked that bad, and they get the star caps suspensions back
Carolina has some talent, think they get to 5-6
Seattle is in such a bad division I think they get 5 or 6
I would add some 1-1 teams in the mix
Denver and Cincinatti
