He has a very good point.
And that, Ladies and Gentlemen, is England's Captain.

Yep, I'm pretty well done with national team until he's off of it. Complete piece of crap, and a below average defender.

After the Euro's this summer there's no longer a reason to have him in the squad, he won't be able to play in 2014 and the younger guys behind him are more than good enough to get qualified and learn to play together
should be Jones + one of Smalling/Cahill/Shawcross with Walker at RB and Baines at LB
Same with Lampard/Gerrard/Defoe etc.
if their first game of WC qualifying isn't something involving
Rooney/Welbeck/Carroll/Wickham
Young/Johnson/Cleverly/Lennon/Walcott/Oxlade-Chamberlain
Rodwell/Wilshere/Barkley/McEachran
and the defense listed above
the new manager is worse than Capello

The referee is being an idiot thus far in the Liverpool game. The linesman made that penalty call.
Honestly, credit to someone that I'm not liking lately, Suarez did nothing, that was a shoulder-to-shoulder challenge which was clean for my liking. I do not like that being called a penalty. Ref looked past it, linesman was adamant it be called. Dont like that either.
Crap like this and this game could turn into a joke.
On the bright side, Charlie Adam with Liverpool's first decent penalty.
As for Chelsea: There you go Torres and Meireles, have fun playing for a 'Big Club.' Just so long as your cheques dont bounce right?

thought it was a penalty actually
the defender clearly moved his leg which took Suarez down, he didn't dive on that one at all

I thought it was physically well played and 'a penalty' but a soft, soft penalty. I'm just happy that Suarez didnt win it by diving.
And 2 losses on the hop from Spurs and they're firmly in 5th!

it's a soft penalty because he's going away from goal, but it's a dumb challenge, you have to give it
5th?!?! that spot has been earmarked for whichever of Liverpool or Woolwich doesn't finish 6th

You guys can have 4th, 3rd is for Liverpool. Arsenal will collapse late and let you have it.
I would LOVE to see Chelski miss the Champions League.

The ref was probably wanting to put down a marker for Suarez until he was put on the spot by the linesman. "Sure, he nicked you, but it'll take a lot more than that to get a penalty today." Suarez's reputation as a diver precedes him and fully deserves to NOT get the benefit of the doubt. Particularly on the fringes of the box while heading away from goal.

Thats the thing, of course Suarez shouldnt get the benefit of the doubt, hes a renowned diver. But he didnt dive. He got on with play, as did everyone else. The only person who wanted to see that called a penalty was the linesman.

I think the Spuds are still favorites for the top 4, Liverpool have not convinced me and I reckon they are Top 6 material.
Arsenal need to build on their current momentum. We've been ruled out of the top 4 many times in the past, but Wenger for all his faults has shown he knows what he need to get that CL spot. That said, I think it is unlikely this season, so I'll just enjoy any win we get.

I still think, and yesterday made it look more likely, it's 4 teams for the last 2 spots. JT isn't good anymore, too slow, and Luiz thinks he's an attacking midfielder not a Centre back

As long as RVP stays healthy, I'm confident Arsenal will be 3-4. He better stay healthy though.
Great game yesterday, dreadful defending at both ends for much of it but very entertaining and a great victory.
