Yes, I guess you're right, destructiod.com is the industry standard as to what all gaming is measured.

I must be way out to lunch on this...

Call of Duty will have more users because it's the Halo/Guitar Hero/frat boy game of the day.

Battlefield is not a console game, so I don't know if it's a big deal that it's not killing it on the consoles.

I've been playing more and getting better, kd is around 1:1 but I'm getting a ton of points for defending flags, the anti vehicle mines are great, plus i'm starting to get weapons up graded. It's fun again, I was just getting frustrated by the game play at first. I found that even if I'm by myself I can run all the way on the far edge of the map and create havoc on them from behind.

The problem with mines is they show up like light bulbs in IR, so once a vehicle driver gets an IR upgrade mines are almost useless.

Then you use them like runway lights to lure them into a choke point where you're waiting with anti-armour!!

thankfully EA hasn't dumbed down the Battlefield series to appeal to the lowest denominator console crowd, like the COD series has. in fact they've done the opposite, and developed BF3 for the PC first then ported to the consoles. as much flak as EA gets for being an "evil" gaming industry overlord, they could have easily sold out BF3 for the consoles in an attempt to take COD head on, but they didn't. and now with EA committing a good chunk of money to Origin they're further proving their support for the PC gaming platform, they should earn some kudos for that

The IR is ridiculous and I'm willing to bet that will get a swing of the nerf bat as well.

So, my favorite 64 man conquest server with great ping is no longer listed. Now I can't find a good 64 man conquest server with a solid map rotation, good ping, and is highly populated.

Speaking of K/D ratio, I found the perfect way to farm it, even better than camping with a sniper.

Go to Noshahr Canals, be US, get in the AA gun on the carrier, that's it.

The AA gun is close enough that not only can you deny air support to the Russians for most of the points, you can directly shoot at vehicles and even guys running around those points. 10 kills is pretty easy to do so 10-0 + any points you get for spotting and vehicle disable and destroy ribbons and stuff.

I'm guessing you play on their server? I've been on it 3-4 times and it's always stacked with their players. My side lost 6 maps before I gave up the other night

Yeah I usually play there. There's usually enough arsians around that the server does stay somewhat balanced, though if it's bad usually asking a few guys to switch on ventrillo works, or I just switch teams and make the good team worse by my presence

As much as I know kids these days love it, I'm having an incredibly hard time adjusting to console joystick controls. Give me a keyboard and mouse and I can pound these rookies into oblivion.

You BF3 young'uns have it easy - back in the days of Battlefield 2, I earned my knife badge by having to get 17 knife kills in one round. Ah, the golden days. Good lord I'm old.

Then why didn't you buy it on PC? It's almost a different game. 64 players makes a huge difference over 24.
