Said a major update to fix it is on the way but was really vague about the timing. Anywhere from a month to 3 months.

I have been having the same issues. Constant freezing, audio loss, 'Recordings unavailable'. Extremely mad about Optik right now, can barely get through a Flames game without one or all of these problems occurring.

Cecil is your main box running on wireless?
I had the same problem with Telus and the freezing and after about 20 visists I finally let them run it straight from the router to the box not using wireless and that fixed the issue.

Hard wired main box.
Since the boxes have been replaced it has been better. Not perfect but better.
Also was told the update has been delayed to the new year at least.

Microsoft update for the tv/pvr platform. Supposedly fixes the menu slowness and the communication issues between boxes.
It is the Microsoft mediaroom platform update as I was told by the rep.

What's the modem firmware revision? I currently have 31.30L.55
Edit: I googled and see that this is the new revision. Any 'change logs' on what's....changed?

There is no such thing as a wireless set top box.

.55 is the latest, it addressed some stability issues.

Shaw, Telus and Bell all suck at CS and are all crooks, the antics these companies pull would get most civilians jailed for 3-6 months.

So all that was plugged into the back of the PVR was power and a signal to your TV?

Power and the white cable that goes to the wall. Don't know what they call it but the same cable that Shaw would use back in the day.

LOL hil-arious. The point was there was no direct connection to my modem/router. Which I suggested Cecil do if it wasn't already connected to his modem since I had problems until Telus connected it directly to my modem/router.

Yes, but by saying wireless many people were confused since the machine does not have built in wireless

You had a direct connection to the modem, it was over coax cable, the modem used the coax to transmit the signal just like it would have using an Ethernet cable.
