I'm level 31 and haven't noticed this. Is there somewhere in particular you go to get it?

He says lvl 30 but what he means is once you finish Act 1 of your class story.

I got mine and am now known as Muffins Mufferman

Plus some of the dark side light sabers deal a ton of damage.

I am having a lot of problems with the Guru in the Dunes mission where you face two Jedi Masters. Not matter what I do with cool downs and Sims and force charges, I get me butt kicked in.
Two elite Jedi Masters at once? How is anybody supposed to beat that without out leveling the quest by about 5 levels? Even then, only maybe. Sounds like there's a trick or something you might be missing. Some mission item to take one out right off the bat or something. Are you sure they aren't just Strong, not Elite? Strong enemies have the silver potrait rings. Elites have the solid gold portrait frames.

I'm 36 now. I could give you a hand with the quest if you wanna just get it done.

Character name is Movaar.

Thanks

They both have the gold star on them.

I tried to do it as a group, and for some reason the other guy couldn't follow me through to it, I'm going to finish leveling up on Alderaan to level 31 and then go back and see if I can kill them.

I'm going to use an endurance stim, one thing that does peeve me is you can't seem to engage the call on the force and they cut through the saber ward like butter.

One of them jumps you right away and I can take him down to about a third and then the second one jumps in and starts hurling debris at you, when I try to use scream or force throw he tosses me across the room.

Its just incredibly tough, but I'm hoping that a level 31 will allow me to kill the first one and then probably leave the area and heal or die and then go in and kill the second guy.

You couldn't do it in a group because the person you were grouped with was likely a Sith Warrior as well. Since that is a class story area, only one Sith Warrior is allowed into it at a time. You'd either have to find a different class to help you, or go into your preferences and enable the option that is something like "Allow sharing of class story phases" or something like that.

The trick to the fight is that the young jedi is the harder of the two. Blow every cooldown you've got to beat him. When I did it (at lvl 30) I beat him so fast I had ~10 seconds before the second jedi (the old guy) engaged me, so I used Channel Hatred there to top off the HP.

The old guy is actually a pushover, compared to the young one. He'll use an ability that will throw you back against a wall, then rush up to you. Interrupt the ability and he just kind of stands there bewildered, and doesn't hit very hard. Every time he tries to recast it, just keep interrupting it, and you'll end the fight thinking "that was a Jedi Master?"

this is by design. a lot of the later level class quests are quite tough and force you to do things like interrupts or figure out a weird mechanic to finish them, and it's quite smart on Bioware's part. it trains you to start using those abilities intelligently so that by the time you're 50 and ready to raid, you know all your abilities and aren't totally useless to your group. i'm only in my mid 30's levelwise, but i've already learned more about properly playing my class than in any other MMO i've tried

I figured out a weird mechanic that allowed me to finish my act 2 boss fight in 5 seconds.

Pulled the guy back to a nearby bridge then used my knock back on him. Turned a difficult boss fight into an easy win

On a side note:
Holy poop the 2nd lvl speeder training is expensive 210k (+25k for the speeder) for only 10% speed gain?

Gotta say I'm quite surprised I haven't gotten into the habit of doing that yet. The only time I've skipped through a mission briefing is if I'm in a group doing a Heroic quest and don't want to hold everybody up while I grab this random mission giver that I passed on the way to the Heroic. Otherwise I've been very interested in following the storylines of the various planets.

Also, there's a few characters I've met that have had memorable interactions with my character and I'd have never had a chance to experience that if I'd just skipped through all the conversations. Like the Sith on Taris that I wound up hating so much that I took a few Dark Side choices to get back at her during my questing there.

I wish she'd have dropped a lightsaber or something I could keep as a trophy instead of some lame green gloves...

I really like the voice over thing, especially for the people I'm about to fight or confront, it gives the game a extra spice.

Plus there are some hilarious moments.

I started an Imperial Agent character just to play with, and he threatens an enemy with a "Let me take his son, or I'll shoot you in the face"

Well, I flew back from Alderaan to Tatooine last night after leveling up to 30, so I'm going to go after the two Jedi master's tonight to see if I can squash them.

I will say that Alderaan is a step up in difficulty, instead of facing groups of 3 enemies, its now 4 or 5 at a time, and in the holorcon mission for example usually one of them is a Jedi Master. I found myself dying a lot.

The Sith Juggernaut just doesn't have a lot of area debilitating attacks, I think he really has two, one is smash and the other one is the immobilization spell.

If I was to go back and do this character again, I would probably be a maurader.

The missions just keep getting more interesting, once I finish off Tatooine I'll head back to Alderaan to finish off Organa and his family.

After owning the stars, I ran into an incredibly hard space mission where you escort a shuttle through an asteroid field while fending off both enemy fighters and capital ships.

I can't wait to see how the Sith Warrior Story line ends.

For space missions, ship upgrades make all the difference.

I'd like to second that upgrading of your space ship for missions. I tend to be time restricted on play so if i only have 10 minutes or so I'll try and rip one of quickly. I was struggling as well, and ship upgrades made the difference. The level 1's are all between 500 and 700 credits so it wasn't to onerous to get as many as I could. I completed one of the double missions and was rewarded with a blue ugrade. Saving up my fleet commendations for a proton torpedo launcher.

As some of the upgrades give you faster/more powerful blasters it pays off for taking down the fighters going after the shuttle. Extra missiles help in taking out the corvettes guns from a far as well.

That was my question, where can you use fleet commendations, I'm assuming either at the Imperial fleet or republic fleet?

Ya, Imperial Fleet. I forget exactly what section, haven't spent a lot of time there.
There is a section that has all the planet commendation vendors. It's at the end of the line of them I believe, on the outer ring of the station. Sorry I can't be more specific, but easiest to turn on your large map, turn on vendors and mouse over till you find it. Perhaps in the same quarter as the PVP vendors.

i finished Alderaan with my Jedi Guardian and i don't remember it being too difficult. what companion are you rolling around with, the DPS one or healer? i use Kira (DPS) and i can tear through almost anything (i've even solo'd a couple champion bosses). the trick for tough encounters is to send your companion in first to grab the agro, then use taunt when they're at 1/4 health so that they don't die and can help you finish the enemies off

I use the healer, I guess I could use the damage dealer, but the Sith Warrior doesn't have that much in the way of self healing during combat.

Hey Captain, in light of this game maybe it's time you go back to your old Vader avatar.
