With the Solovoyov call up I believe the Flames have 3/4 call ups remaining. Who do we think will get an end of season opportunity? As a huge Poirier fan I am hoping he gets the chance but his numbers don’t look great since returning and I believe he was healthy scratched a few games ago?

The Wranglers roll out their Black Aces practice squad every spring. They round up all available CHLers, PTOs and contractual ECHLers. The Rush season is over this weekend, so you can add those.

I don’t know if anyone in here is currently bidding on any of the Wrangler jerseys on elevate… but figured I’d offer a PSA… The Ben Jones Blasty jersey on there is NOT gameworn… the price appears to be rising as if it might be.

If Honzek has any lingering injuries (which has been speculated) he may just be in town for rehab under the team’s medical staff.

They have one call-up remaining. Coronato and Pelletier were sent down and immediately recalled at the trade deadline.

If it's based on merit, Grushnikov, Klapka or Jones.
Poirier has looked poor since returning, and this season will be a wash for him. He needs to show at least a little effort in his own zone. His errors are so egregious that not even Poolman can cover for him anymore.

And from the sizing (Large), it looks like it is not even an authentic jersey.

Ben Jones has been a good soldier, and may not be back. Maybe he gets rewarded with a callup.

That is disappointing to hear. Injuries in players D +1-3 years really concern me for development as they transition to Pro and playing against men. I believe that’s what ruined Valimaki. It worries me about Poirier and Honzek.
Any insight on Gru? He seems like a bit of a forgotten piece after the excitement of all the trades. I would love to see him get a chance to play a couple games with the Flames. He just turned 21 so hopefully he can have a really good offseason and take a big step next year with the Wranglers.
It would be cool to get more detailed game summaries (I appreciate that’s a lot to ask) as the Flames season ends and the Wranglers head into playoffs.

He's quiet but in a good way. He reads plays well, has good angles when defending, and loves being physical. He definitely needs to bulk up—tall but not meaty.
What I think is underrated is his first pass. I never noticed until it was brought up in a broadcast. And he never seems panicked in his own end. When you watch him, you can almost hear Craig Conroy's voice in the back of your mind and him explaining why Calgary wanted him back in trade.
I remember watching one of his first games. He was paired with Pysyk. And Grushnikov looked like the veteran defender, not the guy with however many 100 NHL games under his belt.

Wranglers have four regular season games left, starting tonight. All agains Abbotsford, with whom they're jockeying for playoff seeding.

Think you're mistaking Hunter Brzustewicz (OHL still) from the Lindholm deal with Grushnikov (Wranglers) in the Tanev deal.

Powerplay Quarterback

I finally made it to a Wranglers game this season. It was a pretty good debut for Lipinski on the Wranglers fourth line. The smarts are there, but his poor skating (speed + mechanics) limited his effectiveness. He really, really needs to improve that if he wants to make it to the NHL.
Grushnikov was as advertised. Solid defensively, really smooth skater, moved the puck okay, and made some nice hits.
Klapka was noticeable all over the ice in a good way, but he still plays a little too soft for his size.
Morin had a pretty good debut for a 19 year old. Played third pairing with Poolman. He didn't do much on the ice, but he also didn't make any mistakes.
Dansk played quite well...he kept the Wranglers in the game for most of it.
Poirier was underwhelming. He had two brutal giveaways, including one that led to a Canucks goal. As a second year pro, he should know better than to pull some of the risky moves he pulls
Damiani was not impressive. The effort is there and he was noticeable on the forecheck, but he's small and not very strong. Pettersen is more skilled and a better player based on tonight's showing.
Trent Cull made some questionable decisions, like sending Sutter out as the sixth man when Dansk was pulled for the empty net
