Watched 1987s The Running Man based on a book by Stephen King and staring Arnie. Set in the future of 2017 the world was collapsed and the government has censored all art , music and TV. The hottest TV show is called The Running Man where contestants are convicts try to run to freedom while avoiding death by the Stalkers chasing Arnold plays a former military man who was framed for killing innocent people and must win back his freedom on the show.

I absolutely loved it, they really don't make it like this anymore, just a fun throwback action/sci fi movie that is criminally under appreciated, highly recommend this hidden gem.

HERE IS SUB ZERO, NOW….PLAIN ZERO

Arnie’s true talent wasn’t his physique, it was the generational one liners

Not only were the one liners epic in this but Richard Dawson gives a great performance as an ####### game show host

Richard Dawson was the best part of The Running Man and the movie paled in comparison to Commando when it came to hilarious Arnie one-liners.

It was genius, but it was hard to look at him the same on Family Feud after that movie.

Yeah, that movie is not a hidden gem at all. It played nonstop on all the cable movie channels and was a huge rental hit after a decent theater run. Plus it was a Schwarzenegger movie, everyone loved him back then and watched all his movies.

I mentioned this podcast before, here's the Running Man episode:

It's easily worth the runtime, there's a lot more going on than just the basic premise. (In fact if you just want to see a lot of murder doll action, you'll probably be disappointed.)

It was pretty big back when it was released.

It got overshadowed by Sharon Stone and Total Recall though.

Perfect chance to post a classic UK rave track from my childhood which heavily quotes Richard Dawson from The Running Man.

Man, Black Panther 2 was such a drag. Felt like they just gave up on the franchise after Chadwicks passing.

I liked Namor and its always good to watch Lupita Nyongo but that can't save what that movie was. Which was not a good movie, much much less than good.

I can't stand movies that just go through the motions. And it's even worse when the entire production does it. Everything was a drag.

want an old forgotten movie you may not have watched? How about Flatliners, from about 1989 or 1990.

I had long since forgotten about the film until a friend of mine actually flatlined last week. (he'll be ok)

I avoided seeing Black Panther 2, I had a hunch it wouldn't be good without Boseman. It was far worse than I thought, it actually made me angry.

I watch all sorts of bad 80s movies with terrible writing and that are filmed poorly and technically bad, I can enjoy a lot of garbage. Not this kind of garbage.

The 80s are the best for action movies. They are what action movies should be: over the top heroes, very violent, cheesy one-liners, sex and lots of explosions. In other words, fun.

There was a list I had found before from CHUD.com that had the top 100 80s action films but I can't find it now. But it really got me into any action films made by Cannon. They have some really cheap, cheesy action movies and some classics.

Death Wish 2 (the best Death Wish)
America Ninja (cheesy and awesome)
Runaway Train (Jon Voight and Danny Trejo first movie)
Delta Force (Chuck Norris hell yeah)
Cobra (Stallone classic)
Bloodsport
