Fracturing my wrist mountain biking really grinds my fears.

I haven't done any deep water aerobics in 2 weeks and it has affected my flexibility and golf game in a negitive way. I've lost some of my body flexibility and my wrist that I broke last year gets stiff after golf. I need to get back to the pool this week!

It's everywhere and outside of maybe PK Subban and Paul Bissonette they're just so boring to watch/listen to. Oh yay, another person dumped water on their head, how exciting.
Yet its raising lots of money.

We got challenged to do it as a family by my sister-in-law and her family.

Part of the challenge is to donate money to the cause, not just pour water over your head.

I posted the video in the Bettman thread, but thought it might be appropriate here too. Here's the story behind the challenge, and the guy who inspired it.

Agreed with Yen Man here. All too often I'd see an email chain where at the end responsibility is assigned to someone. A week later I haven't heard anything back from the person who was supposed to complete the work. Did it get done? Was it done and they didn't say anything? I'm left in the dark.

I know I hate being the babysitter, as I guess most people do too, so instead of waiting for that annoying "will you do this?" email, just finish off the chain by saying "okay, I will complete this task and let [x] know when I finish".

Just a view from the other side of the email.

It grinds my gears that the guys in my hockey pool have decided they want to change our pool format so you don't have to edit a lineup everyday because they are too damn lazy to do it and still expect me to fork over $100 to not do anything all season.

I'm so tempted to make a top 5 thread where you rate your top 5, top 5 threads.

Perhaps I sould have clarified, the chain of emails happened in a span of about 5 minutes. At least give a person some time to read an email. I'm not sitting at my desk waiting for it.

On that topic:

It grinds my gears just the tiniest bit when someone responds to a top 5 thread with "here's my top 5, and here's one or two honorable mentions."
It also grinds my gears a little when someone responds, "I'm just going to count these 2, 3, 5, etc. as 1."

It grinds my gears a lot when someone responds "oh, I couldn't possibly pick just 5, so here's, like 20 of them." If you can't actually put in the little bit of an effort to make some hard choices, don't bother.

Sorry, this is the "top 5 gear grinders" thread.
That was only 3.
Please put the required effort in.

Yah, when someone asks your favorite way to eat shrimp, and inevitably, someone feels the need to go Bubba Gump and list off 800 different ways to eat shrimp.

Thanks for the insight, Mr. Creativity. I didn't need your googled list that included 42 different ways to cook shrimp over a fondue flame.

Shrimp on a bun
Shrimp on a stick
Shrimp on two different sticks
Shrimp with a glass of water
Shrimp with other shrimp
Shrimp without shrimp
Shrimp with peas
Shrimp with carrots
Shrimp with peas and carrots
Shrimp without peas or carrots

Mostly prevalent in music threads.

Q: Favorite bands?

A: Errr... Every band of that genre in history! Here's a list of my top 500:

Stop trying to suck everyone's dick at once.

What Grinds my Gears is this forum at the end of August. Everyone is so on edge, not happy and grumpy.

Is this a joke I'm missing? I have never been asked or even ever heard anyone ask someone else what their favourite way to eat shrimp is.
Why would someone ask that in the first place?

Shrimp on two different sticks! Awesome.

When I'd interview while working in the restaurant industry, I'd always ask what's your favourite type of music. All I wanted to do was see if you could prioritize and make a decision. So often I got, "I like all types of music". I started replying with, "So 70s porn music?" This would let them know that I was creepy, and it would let me know if they were freaky. It was a win-win.
