Vitoria with a couple terrible plays already.

Perhaps starting a CB in midfield, fullbacks on the wing and having a winger at fullback was not the right move.

There's good reason why Millar and Cavallini are not in the first choice squad.

Well, it was a good 18 month run. Back to the usual Canadian soccer I guess.

There is a drastic drop off in talent after our top guys. There is no threat out there. Just having Davies, David and Buchanon on the field causes other teams to drop off.

I’m still really not convinced by Herdman’s tactical abilities. Always seems like he has to make some weird decisions to cram players into the 11.

Oh well, hopefully we can turn it around in the second half.

The drop off when Davies and David aren’t there makes me concerned that this blip isn’t a sign that soccer is improving but we got lucky with a couple of elite players we likely won’t get again.

Add Larin into the mix. Made a comment in the last WC qualifying game to Panama when Herdman rested a bunch of guys. He brought on Larin and David after going down 2 and almost pulled it off.

Continuing to trot out the same mid range (at best) guys that have been there for a few years and arent going to develop is useless. Let's hope some of the truly fresh blood that is in the lineup this tourney gets some experience this next two years and replaces the deadwood.

We have a handful of impact players, and only 1 or 2 of them are at this tourney.

They need to be better. Yes the best players aren’t there but the standards shouldn’t drop.

As a CB myself, I can't help but focus on Vitoria. He needs to not see another minute. Ever.

On the first goal, your ONE job as a CB in that spot is to keep him to the outside. I teach my U11s this. And they're pretty decent at it. How he lets him literally walk around him, without even making contact, is beyond me.


Russel Crowe on the OG...unlucky, but at the same time, he's not even goal side. Of course he ends up putting himself in a tough spot.

Two basic errors defensively cost us two goals.

Vitoria sucks. In case I hadn't articulated that clearly enough.

I refuse to believe there isn't a better CB option in this country. Give me two weeks to lose my belly and I'll fill in.
