In the replies, he also mentions that the Canucks prefer Morin to Honzek. Feels like they're just trying to make amends internally for how badly they got fleeced for Lindholm.

Feels like something around Zib+ for Miller or Cozens+ for Petterson make alot of sense.
I do wonder if a team will come out of nowhere though.
LA Kings are trying to win now and Byfield hasn't broken through yet.
The Wild are in a similar situation.

Since being moved to C on Nov. 15 against Nashville, Zary has played 21 games as an NHL. In that time he has 7 Goals and 7 Assists for 14 points or a 55 point pace. He will undoubtedly improve as well. At 23, it's not ridiculous to envision him growing into a PPG Center that can play a strong 2-way game.
He should be as untouchable as anything on the roster or in the system as there's not a realistic trade proposal that would ever come forth that would be worth moving him.

I saw that one too. Same thing noted that the Rangers are the only team J.T. Miller will accept a trade to. Money is too far apart as Vsncouver would have 12.37 incoming and only 8 going out.

Zary could progress, he could not. Pettersson had 89 and 102 points the last two seasons. Zary is the type of player you have to move in a Pettersson deal.
For the record, I do not think it would be a good idea for the Flames to acquire Pettersson and, if they are going for a forward like that, I'd like to see them be more patient. Although I do understand how having a #1 goalie changes things.
