This was also well into the season, after the Jay Bruce scenario ended.
Carrera is hurt, right before his amazing 1 for 15 stat line.
Could be. Had the debate multiple times. I'm still adamant i would prefer Carerra in LF, though I admit I've had a long standing dislole of Saunders from his Mariners and I am biased.

It's for the exact reason I do. There's people that have been waiting for this since '93 and people don't feel everything is being done that is necessary to win and that really gets people going when most of them know the Jays won't have another opportunity for another long time. The moves they make are too financially motivated, and it's drives people nuts. Rogers has created a real
Hornets nest, that much is obvious.
People seem to think I'm happy to see the Jays fail. That couldn't be further from the truth. If I had a choice between the Jays winning the World Series once and the Flames winning the Stanley Cup, i'm picking the Jays without hesitation.
Well then you and I really differ on our views of the moves the Jays have made because IMO the Jays have done exactly what you said, they've made moves to be a contender and give them the best shot including changing their mind on the Sanchez decision.
What deal/deals have been out there that the Jays should have made but didn't? I didn't personally see a player at the deadline move that the Jays should have been in on for the cost they wre acquired for but maybe you did?

In hindsight, the Jays haven't done bad, and I like their trade deadline moves, but you don't start the season as a contending team with a hole in LF, Smoak as your starting 1b, no bullpen at all, Thole as your backup catcher, and 2 of your 5 starters with innings limits. That's what frustrates a lot of Jays fans. Everyone one of those moves can be said to be financially motivated when this team was setup to win it all and has a very short timeline.
Honestly, if t wasn't for completely unexpected performances way above our wildest expectations by Happ and Sanchez, where would this team be? Sure you can say it doesn't matter, those performances happened, but contending teams do no leave that to chance.
Rogers also brings a lot of this malcontent on themselves which is why I think you see a lot of discontent despite their record that has you perplexed. They spend the entire summer floating around false rumours they are in on this pitcher and that players, only to essentially do not much at all, and don't even at least resign one of the faces of their franchise. They are setting themselves up for backlash even before the season starts, especially with as many bandwagon fans as the Blue Jays have in the Toronto media market.
Don't forget, AA was the prodigal son of Toronto too. That would have some people wound up as well.

Enjoy the GD ride, because next year Bautista and Edwin are gone, we have the 3rd oldest team in the majors and no prospects.
Actually I think the Shapiro and Atkins have done a stellar job restocking the farm and it actually looks pretty good now. They had (IMO) a great draft, Ramirez and McGuire are a strong injection of talent and a bunch of other guys are performing very well. Pitching doesn't have the upside it used to when Sanchez, Syndergaard, and Nicolino were ripping up low-A but Harris, Greene, and Zeuch are all looking good so far by stats and/or by scouts.

Guerrero Jr. hit two homeruns in one game the other night.

He's one of the bunch of other guys are performing very well. Doing really well when you know that he's a 17 year old playing in what is essentially the Jays 19 year old affiliate.
That's the thing with baseball. There are sooooo many games and the season is soooo long that you can't get caught up in the little things. The other night TAO was upset they had lost 2 of 3 to "bad teams" but they actually won both those series.
Thole sucks. He sucks and he sucks hard. Other than that the rest of the team has played well.
