Angle-terre is just Angle Land in french, pretty much just a transliteration.
Royaume-Uni is also just united kingdom.
Allemagne is much more interesting, and but is more about historical context to what was next to france.
Chine? I don't get why that sounds racist.
Imagine bringing up odd french #### and not talking about numbers: 99 = four twenty nineteen

Also, Italian is by far the worst for this.
Imagine you're in Firenze at the train station trying to get to Munich.
Monaco di Bavaria in Tedesco is probably not what you would be looking for on the board.

Everybody does it, its kind of neat seeing Country names in their native form.
Like Suomi or Sveriga or Koninkrijk der Nederlanden.
And then you get to the African or Asian colonization countries! Like Abyssinia and Rhodesia!
And I dont care what they call it...

It was very interesting to watch Trump sit there like fat lump while Elon addressed reporters from behind the Resolute Desk.
Baseball hat & t-shirt. Remember when they got upset at Obama's non-navy colored suit?

You mean the spouting off about how the democracy is broken because unelected people (bureaucrats) have power? Said by the unelected man responsible for firing a bunch of them from behind the President's desk?

"Interesting" isn't the word I'd use, more like unprecedented and alarming. The symbolism and irony of unelected Musk just standing in oval office spewing all kinds of BS about democracy and transparency is remarkable.

Listening to the White House press briefing. Karoline Leavitt is going full North Korea with her praise of Trump.

8-10 years of direct warnings with Trump not easing any of them… and we still got here. Couldn’t be more disheartening.

Hey man, this is on Americans.
Then again we re-elected Trudeau so we're not much better.

I'm no Trudeau fan, but lets be realistic here, he is not even close to the incompetence of the current American president. Not even in on the same planet.

It sure seems like Musk is actually the one in charge down there. That presser in the Oval Office was pure insanity. Trump just sitting there like an obedient pet, completely silent for the first time in his life. We are in the craziest f***ing timeline right now.

Yes, electing Trudeau is just a little better than electing a racist/misogynist/alleged child rapist/convicted felon/fraudster/liar/guy who makes fun of disabled people/POS.
The fact people like Trump get in power is because of people like you.

I agree, but it’s the same when people compare PP to Trump. One is a leader of a party some people don’t like, but comparing him to Trump is ridiculous. I see some other highly partisan conservative supporters compare Trudeau to Trump which is just as dumb.
I would take 10 Trudeaus OR Poilievres over Trump, any day. He is in a league of his own for how toxic and defective a human he is.

Also what's racist about Chine? It's literally the pronunciation of the origin Qin dynasty / chin

Oof. That's fair.
I don't like Trudeau. But he pales in comparison to Trump. And that's evident in what he's doing in his final weeks as PM when he could easily dip out. I think he's out of touch with what life is like for the average Canadian during his tenure but he's not actively and aggressively taking action towards undermining the constitution this nation was built on like Trump and inflicting potentially irreversible harm on people and relationships with other nations in a reckless manner.
I stand corrected. It was just words off the cuff. Not a serious comparison of the two.
This place is often on the verge of nuclear meltdown, forget to watch myself sometimes.
One wrong thing/can be misinterpreted and you're the devil!
