Yes, that's a bad idea. The next Elden Ring that comes along that you want to play, you'll wish you'd looked harder for a PS5.
Are they really that hard to get again? Last summer I didn't have all that much difficulty. Started looking and had one a week later, just had to stay on top of the alerts.

I’d like to start playing Elden Ring. Getting a PS4 seems like the cheaper and faster route vs trying to find a PS5. Is that a terrible idea?
I tend to agree with Corsi since used PS4s aren't as cheap as I think they should be and the PS5 will get way more longevity. That being said, Elden Ring runs decently well on PS4 and PS4 so it's an option. Your PS4 will sound like a jet engine the whole time you play though.

I’m not really looking for a new gaming console. Don’t have the time. Just looking to play Elden Ring specifically to tie me over for 6 months til BOTW2 comes out. Then I’d probably just sell the PS4. So wondering if it’s a good enough gameplay experience on PS4 Pro?

The issue being that in 6 months PS4 prices might have dropped, whereas you'll probably be able to still sell the PS5 for about what you paid for it, especially around Christmas. But that does require finding one. I'm surprised they're back in shortage.

yeah I'm still in love with my PS4, actually. I've been thinking about getting a PS5 for a while, but they're still a bit of a pain to get over here (I just don't have the energy to watch over potential drops like a hawk) and I still have a decent backlog of PS4 games I want to play before moving on to the PS5. Maybe in the fall.
Does anyone have a set of beginner tips that they’ve found helpful for Elden Ring?
I’ve never played a game like this before- I just got to the second area of the game, but I feel so lost and confused which is causing me to lose interest.
I would like to keep going and see what this game has to offer but I’m a bit stuck
Ah good call on being able to sell the PS5 for same price!
OK so the question that’s probably been asked a bunch in here…what’s the most effective way to find one??? I did some quick online shopping searching and couldn’t find any other than what looks like Walmart online for like $1000.

Follow Lbabinz on twitter and he has a discord. Are you looking for the "physical or digital" one? They usually show up in bundles as well.
EDIT: Also PM'd.

I got my ps5 after taking this advice from the forum. Lbabinz tweeted that there was stock at Amazon and I got one easy. Just need to check for the tweets early in the day so you don’t miss out.

Yeah I wasn't expecting Stray to be a kind of puzzle game, I was expecting more Cyberpunk 2077 with a cat.
I still really enjoyed it though it was over way too fast, so didn't feel there was good value for the price though I am ok with rewarding them for doing something like that.

But certainty is an absurd one.
Though I haven't played it, Stray has reviewed really well... it seems like they could really improve this on the next version, making it much bigger for example and less on rails possibly... like Dishonored for example, which isn't 'open world' but a series of 'rooms' that are completely open.
A logical thing to do would be to customize your cat - though I am not a cat person, I would imagine people would absolutely love to customize the on screen cat to look like your real cat.

I have to wonder if they were seeing how things went with this one, and didn't realize it'd blow up like it did. I have to admit that I wouldn't mind a longer storyline, but I'm also good with the story as it was. Not every game needs to be a 100+ hour mega open world snorefest. A tight, short, GOOD story works, too.
I felt I got my money's worth on this one. $30 these days is one movie. Maybe 2, if you go yourself. I got way more enjoyment out of this game than I have out of 2 movies for quite a while now.
Stray put me in mind of Portal, which I also felt was a great, small game.
