This thread is drifting down the charts as we look into our cups and imagine what life might have been like had Tkachuk stayed.
But imagine Deadmonton. The intoxication from the fluffers at HNIC just wore off and this sad sack of franchise and its fan base is now seeing how a true game breaking talent carries himself and behaves with teamates.

Things certainly have gone extremely quiet up north lately now that the stories about the Oilers being ransacked by injuries and how it was the closest 6 game series in the history of the NHL have subsided. Not much else to talk about now outside of how the team will get out of their salary cap predicament and analyzing all the teams that have lined up to bail the Oilers out and take Cody Ceci's contract off their hands.

Aren't the Oilers adding Karlsson's $11 million contract this off season and upgrading their goaltending while hanging on to everyone except Campbell and his $20 million contract who some team is going to trade a great player for?

I thought I read it somewhere that SJ gonna trade them Karlsson and retain 50% for Yamamoto....
....oh wait, it was their fans reporting that.

Well to be fair I was at HF Leafs just checking on opinions of Treliving being their next GM and it's pretty shocking the amount of posters there terrified that he would bring Sutter in as head coach. Talk about a fanbase that knows absolutely nothing outside of their team.

Yes, I'm sure the Leafs will take Campbell back one year later at a worse cap hit after an awful season after letting him walk in order to not pay him the amount/term he was demanding.

The fact they went with Matt Murray as an upgrade spoke volumes about Campbell and it played out that exact way.
5 million backup for 4 more years.
At least Markstrom looks like be a competent 30-40 game starter.
