Let's see if Dong actually files a lawsuit. Wouldn't be the first time the Liberals hung an innocent person out to dry.

Unnamed is different from anonymous. This would have went through their legal teams. Also note how the liberal response has changed to we were aware and didn’t have any actionable content.

That’s a long way from deny and it’s racist to talk about.

The global story is evidence of a public inquiry being required not necessarily that all the allegations are true.

Liberal response is the exact same, they said they were unaware until the media asked them about it. The Globe story confirms that they asked them about it. The Globe decided not to run it because it was just some guy who told them about it.

What we do know is that Dong/Scarecrow was under surveillance by CSIS and Im guessing they may have been listening in on his conversations as such. Probably even recording them.

If so, Im guessing Global knows this and had no issue publishing what they wrote.

As unfortunate as it is for this country, it sure is fascinating political theater. Something this Trudeau led Liberal party seems to be masters of creating.

What we know is someone told Global this happened. Global reviewed no tapes, read no transcripts and had no other information. And then they published. That is what we know, because the Globe confirmed today they had the same story (someone walks in and says something but has nothing to back it up) and they passed on the story.

It is kinda like an Orange Julius trade rumour in that way.

March is 3rd the media asked them about it. Trudeau has been actively denying anything being worthy of an investigation throughout March. This date previously undisclosed is a change. Also saying they did not find it actionable is a change. It’s different then did nothing wrong. It’s different then it’s racist to suggest anything .

This is the start of the we were aware of Dongs actions in 19/21, it’s a national security issue, we were allowing the investigation to take place defense.

He announced an investigations (multiple investigations) would take place on March 15. So throughout March is incorrect.

Why would they go and say “on March 3rd we were asked a question because some random person told the Globe with no accompanying evidence to back up the charge, that something took place”. That would be a super weird thing to announce.

And it entirely depends on who that "someone" is....and actually have 2 "someones", both verifying the same thing.

Both being touted as high level CSIS employees.

They could be lying about it all, but one would have to wonder why they would do so?

All I know for sure is that a conversation took place between Dong and the Consul General of China, one which Dong initiated. One that he had while under surveillance by the Canadian Spy agency (which in of itself raises a lot of questions), and chances are pretty good there is a transcript and/or recording of somewhere in the CSIS files.....since.....again they were watching him for these very kind of transgressions in regards to diplomacy with China, something he was never tasked with by his bosses...apparently.

It sounds like on March 3 Globe asked the PMO about this. The PMO asked CSIS about this following the Globe questioning maybe that same day or shortly after and the PMO was given transcripts from which they determined there was nothing actionable. Later in March, after more media attention and pressure from opposition the PM announced his investigation would happen.

IMO that suggests there is, at minimum, a transcript of it all and he was made aware of it.

Its not a cheap town to begin with, obviously every bigwig in the world is going to be there, there needs to be security, etc.
