Brayden schenn would be the perfect addition.

Not part of the problem but not part of the solution? When a core franchise player is not part of the solution that mean's he's in fact part of the problem.

Didn't the Blues say Schenn was the one untouchable?

I think that was Jaden Schwartz, which sounds so odd that maybe I am mis-remembering.

Yeah funny that they value him more than Tarasenko or Pietrangelo

I would look at guys that have historically performed well in the playoffs.
Guys like Dustin Brown and Justin Williams. In fact, Dustin Brown would look amazing in the C.

Taking a while to get to 5000

Flames would be unlikely (I would think) to bring in anyone with term beyond this season if they were to add.

Would not be surprised if they brought in Simmonds. I am just not sure at the price he is likely to cost.
On the goalie front, someone mentioned it earlier, but traditionally mid season goalie trades have disrupted the apple cart. Miller and Bishop come to mind as two recent examples that went the wrong way...

You're probably right. I didn't realize how much term Brown still has for his age. Too bad, because in the short term, I think he would be perfect. A $5.875 cap hit until 2022 is not practical though.

I also think a centreman would be more likely, other UFA names out there include Matt Duchene, Kevin Hayes, Marcus Johansson and Ryan Dzingel. (all are productive potentially available Eastern Conference centreman)

Nothing to see here.
Knows Minnesota is boring. Found an excuse not to attend.

I'd prefer a C, but Simmonds would fit this roster nicely as a power forward. It is concerning that he seems to be slowing down though.

I would love to add if possible these rentals
Staal( if Minny falls )#1 by far
Simmonds
Maroon ( shouldnt cost much and could be a great add )
Would like a bit more size, defence is great and i am more than happy with the rest of the attacking squad.
If a solid goalie could be had i would be open but only considering that it does not cost much and they take Smith back.

I think most will reject this outright, but what about something radical like neal+dube+1st for schenn. Losing two big assets but getting out of Neal's contract and gaining schenn for a few years of his prime. Moving neal would get him into our cap structure and create a very potent top 6 all locked in for 2 years more at least in their primes.

Absolutely! If they go for a re-tool it will be 3 years until they are possibly competitive. If anything Anaheim could end up loosing that trade (depending on the return).
I wonder what he is even worth tho a 2nd?
