I hope we get Barca or Real to be honest. I don't want Chelsea or Man U - we see them twice a year already. We draw Schalke or Shaktar and I think we arguably become favorites and that is the LAST place Tottenham wants to be; because we all know what Spurs do when people expect them to win.

Benzema scores and for all intents and purposes puts Madrid though and completes the final 8

draw I am hoping for, they draw for QF and SF on Friday

side A.
Spurs vs Schalke
Inter vs Shakhtar

side B.
Chelsea vs Madrid
Man U vs Barca

I think Man U is the only team that could beat Barca over 2 legs, because if Vidic is healthy they are the only team who can keep them from scoring an away goal. And on side A I would be happy with any of the matchups, just want those 4 on a side.

What I fully expect to happen

Tottenham/Man U
Barca/Chelsea

Madrid/Inter
Schalke/Shakhtar

Spurs always draw Man U, the 2nd leg will be at OT as well 100%, putting Barca on that side as well is the best chance for Platini to keep an English team out of the final which would be a victory for him.

*the story inside in no way has anything to do with Rooney saying he fears Spurs more than Barca, all he says was he has enjoyed their progress and has been happy United games are on different days so he can watch them. Most likely him wanting in Harry's good graces for when Harry takes over for England.

Busy couple of days so I finally got to watch Inter vs Bayern.

The only time the fact that soccer isn't a big deal in Canada works to my benefit. No updates from friends, on the radio etc.

Admittedly I'm not the biggest soccer fan. More of a fair weather fan. I watch the occasional game on the weekend but mostly just the big tourneys. CL, Euro, WC.

This was just a treat of a game to watch. Just end to end for 90+ mins. I jumped out of my chair screaming when Pandev scored the winner. That was just plain fun.

I'll be eagerly awaiting to see how the draw on Friday turns out.

I fully expect Inter and Madrid to be drawn against each other, if not Inter will draw an English team for sure.

UEFA CL draws always seem to have either the player/manager returning to his old team (Henry vs Arsenal, Eto'o and Ibrah, etc) or an Italian team facing an English team.

I expect:

Inter-Madrid
Tottenham-Man U

Barca-Chelsea
Schalke-Shakhtar

Barca gets the easy half of the draw since Platini seemingly hates the Italians and the English, and UEFA loves Barca.

Wenger and Nasri got 1 match bans from UEFA

its not a real punishment because they miss 1 group game, but silly enough in that they shouldn't have been punished

Joe Jordan banned from one match as well, UEFA really laying down the hammer but banning one of the 8 first team coaches Spurs have

So Wenger and Nasri get banned for rightfully criticizing an awful sending off that changed the game, and Jordan gets banned for being head-butted? Seems consistent enough

Ban everyone. For everything. Everyone take a day off.

Not that I'm trying to stir anything up, but Jordan must have done or said something to that arse Gattuso for him to be singled out like that. Does anyone know what he did/said? Maybe this is standard when club officials get 'involved' with opposing players.

It all seemed a little bit stupid (ridiculous) to me.

Tough road ahead for Spurs if they want to make some (more) noise - Madrid then most likely Barca to get to the finals.

There was a lot of talk in the Italian and some English media that Joe Jordan called Gattuso a term that is derogatory towards Italians, which then caused the crazy Gattuso to grab him by the throat.

Surprising draw to me, usually UEFA likes to "weigh" things to make sure they get all the high profile matches they want.

I think thats a pretty decent draw really.

Sure, it wont be easy for Spurs, but Madrid are notorious chokers and I think they've got as good a chance as any. Spurs could have drawn worse.

Barca get a sweetheart draw and at least one of ManU or Chelski wont make it.

I think the most interesting matchup personally is the Inter/Schalke. I'm surprised Schalke has made it this far, but I think that is anyone's to take.

Ya I am pretty happy with it

disappointed though in no high profile matches, like Jose back to Inter or Ronaldo back to OT

Winner of Manchester United/Chelsea faces the winner of Inter Milan/Schalke 04. Winner of Tottenham/Real Madrid faces the winner of Barcelona/Shaktar.

No chance of an all-Spanish final.

So long as Martin Atkinson isn't drafted by UEFA to officiate at Stamford Bridge I think Manchester United can head back to Old Trafford level where I love our chances. Hopefully John Terry misses a penalty in front of the Stretford End.

more I think about more I like the Madrid draw, they can't defend, and with the 2nd leg in London I think if Spurs need to score goals they will be able too

Lennon and Bale have to have massive ties

think Barca, Inter, Chelsea go through in the other ones. Don't trust Smalling in a big game (and oh lord if Wes Brown has to play) and Torres has owned Vidic.

I would predict the final to be Barca-Chelsea
