With that promotion code you can get an ocean view room at the 4* Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort for 7 nights + non-stop return airfare for $856/person (including taxes). It's even cheaper if you don't require oceanview rooms. That is an insane deal. I've been tracking the Bahamas for a while and they keep dropping in price. Jamaica as well.

Most searches for DC will include Baltimore automatically, but make sure that's happening as it is often quite cheap and it's very easy to get into DC from the airport.
Also, for heading between those cities I'd recommend that you take one of the chinatown bus services. It typically adds an hour or so over the train but will save you at least $50. Most of them can be found by just googling 'washington to nyc by bus' or whatever.
I'll see you on Long Island and hopefully Boston or DC.

Nice, it seems to me that 'promo code' might be a cleverly disguised way of offering hotels that have already dropped their prices, but I haven't really looked into it yet.
I'm seeing the Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort on Kayak for $179/night, which comes out to about the same price per person when combined with the $313 flight. But when you go to actually get that rate it says...
Quote:
'A Service Fee totaling to 12.00 USD that is not taxable - Bellman Gratuity (per guest age 18 and over per stay)
A Service Fee totaling to 252.00 USD that is not taxable - Gratuities (per guest age 18 and over per night). Covers room, house, pool and beach attendants.'
|
So, not sure if the Orbitz 'package' would include all that ... ?

Some pretty good Wed-Sat flights to Vegas in the first half of December for $298 CDN on WestJet.
Look for the $89/$99 each way flights.
Also, Dec 28/29 - Jan 1 for $350 CDN, not bad for Vegas @ new years.

I saw the flights you highlighted in the Facebook send-outs. That's an amazing price to LA at that time of year. I know, cause I already booked a flight.
Hey cmyden, what would you say is the cheapest time of year to go down to Vegas? Airfare wise that is...

Hmmm, hard to say, Vegas is kind of a year round destination. I would have to go with August (it's blistering hot in August, not sure if that's why, but I've seen decent deals in August) and probably October.
I've heard Christmas is another time, because most people are doing family related things, so Vegas is one of the few places where prices actually go down. Some flights right now are at a decent price, certainly not double like most Christmas flights.
Oh and whenever there is a recession

hmmm, right now it looks like IAD (Washington) is the cheapest at $478 USD. EWR (Newark) is $490 USD. Boston is $522.
May also want to give Atlantic City (ACY) some consideration, WestJet has had some occasional cheap flights there lately, at least from Toronto. Currently $469 USD on those dates.
I'd imagine any deals for March, if there are going to be any, might not show up until at least after Christmas.

Thanks cmyden,
Trying to avoid the Westjet route as their timing requires an overnight in TO on the way back to Calgary.
What carrier is that price for into Newark? I can't find anything that cheap.

If you're traveling with bags be sure to factor in the baggage charges if you go with a US carrier, it won't offset a night in Toronto but it might make a difference between comparable flights.

For us left coasters there are some decent Vegas deals leaving from Vancouver on Dec. 15th (all prices include return airfare, 1 week stay, taxes and fees):
Monte Carlo - $544
Bally's - $544
Flamingo - $551
Rio - $551
Luxor - $553
Treasure Island - $598
WestJet is also having a two-day 65% off sale. Combine if with some of the great Vegas hotel deals basically between now and the end of February. Some of the hotel deals are here:

One week: Dec 9-15, Jan 5-12, Jan 12-19, Jan 19-26, Jan 26-Feb 2, Feb 2-9

I think it's half WestJet and half Vegas. Vegas seems to stop just short of offering free hookers and blow if you'll come stay at one of their hotels.
