Yeah, Pat did say “players like Rossi” rather than specifically Rossi, so given we’ve bandied about names like Sillinger and others that’s kind of along the lines of what’s being talked about.

That’s where the deal probably falls apart a bit with San Jose… they don’t really have a player that fits that bill. I doubt they would part with Eklund…

I don't think San Jose would give up a potential franchise player to drop down and also have Andersson. Andersson on a championship team isn't a number 1 dman. I hate to say it and will get immense blowback, but he's a good number two. He doesn't have that size to lead a team back there and has bouts with mediocre offense. Anyway, if I were SJ I would make the pick unless some young potential star player were presented to them to trade down.

Sillinger fumbled Tate McRae... for that reason, I'm out

How about a swede for a swede? Rasmus and pick #32 to San Jose for Timothy Liljegren and pick #30?

Reading between the lines from what the media is reporting and what Royle and Sec have shared over the last few days, I think Connie is exploring both options with a Raz trade - the first being for a Rossi-like, young player who can fit the team’s current age group and the second being to use Raz to strengthen our draft position.
Sounds like all options are on the table and he’s going to take the best overall deal he can get.

I hope the Sharks are giving us 2nd OA if we’re giving up Andersson and 32. (I know that’s not going to happen).
Liljegren is not good

2OA is worthless this year, everyone knows it. We'd be doing them a favour taking it off their hands. That's the way we roll.
We aren't 'trade for Evander Kane nice,' but we will help SJS out of this jam.

Does the change from 8 and 7 year max term contracts to 7 and 6 year max term contracts force Raz's hands to resign with the team he is traded to this offseason / before the trade deadline?
Basically it goes from 8 years max (resigning with your current team) to 6 years max (if he doesn't resign with the team he is with past the deadline.

I don't think the new CBA will come into effect on that timeline.
