The Dutch are making a real hash of this.
Good for the Austrians though. Like I said before the Tournament, they're a really well-balanced team.

And as much as it pains me to say as Alaba is one of my favourite players ever, you’re right when you said they’re a better team without him

Yeah. They're a better TEAM.
You're not just deferring to Alaba to do it all, all of the time.
Its like the Oilers, when they think 1 or 2 guys are going to do everything all the time, the rest screw the pooch. Its a TEAM game.

Normally I'd be pretty annoyed that England are once again looking like it'll be a layup run to the Final, but they won't beat whoever they play and making the Final means more Southgate, so it's actually kinda great?

Congrats to the Austrians. Fully deserving of that win.
Dumb cheeseheads.
You've got a few giants on your team, put 'em in the box and bang the ball off their skulls.

just feels surreal ... this #### means a lot y'all. As football fans in this country, we've waited for something like this for a long, long time. After so many years (or decades, even) of disappointment, I never thought I'd see the day when we can play with the best of them. Winning this group? It would have been unthinkable a few years ago. Now they've formed a real team that is playing good football under a great manager. Being able to celebrate something like this is just awesome.
And as for Alaba, it does feel a bit wrong to have these moments without him being on the pitch. He might just be the best Austrian footballer of all time, he's certainly up there ... stupid injury.

I've used to cheer for England at those tournaments, but Southgate has pretty much killed all of that.
Go Slovenia.

Belgium and England finishing 2nd in their groups would make for a pretty hilarious bracket.
You'd have Spain, Germany, Portugal, France, England, and Belgium all on the same half of the bracket.

Go Slovenia! I love it when soccer superpowers are taken down and their fans and media lose their minds like it's the end of the world.

Getting ahead of myself for sure but three of the four quarter finals could be heavier weight bouts.
Portugal V France
Spain V Germany
England V Italy
France finishing second definitely changed the bracket outlook. One side is pretty stacked.

The funniest part of Southgate and Deschamps being the preeminent terrorists of international football is that 2022 WC match was great. But yeah what a tragic waste of talent with those managers.

Lol! You dont see that every day.
Corner taken, ball goes out of play, comes back and hits the keeper and goes in.
Rightly called off. Sorry Denmark, but that was a hell of a curl.
