We paid a 3rd and a 7th to save 1.5 mill on next years cap and 2 goalies to try out.

That was the expected cost to dump Vitek. In fact I believe on here the general consensus was you'd want an additonal 2nd to take on Vitek

To dump a goalie with the worst numbers in hockey yes.
Weird how the perception on here went from Vitek being a cap dump and the reason NJD can't win to somehow fitzy is dumb for trading him the second he got traded.

I wonder if any NHL teams take a look at signing Nikolay Goldobin. 78 points in 67 KHL games, still only 27 years old. He had half a point per game in the NHL when he was 22 years old. It looks like he has since improved quite a bit.

Easy my simple friend, Vitek is just as elite as Mercer is at centre (he’s a winger) and as elite as Holtz’s 14 goals a year shot lol.

Allowed us to preserve the waivers exemptions on the 2 young guys, and while both have only played 1 game, they've each looked great.
