Blatantly obvious in that I have no idea what you are talking about? I said he is quickly turning into a superstar as he is. His 1st "superstar" season was last year in Calgary. Prior to last season, his best offensive season was 77 points. Prior to last season he never had a season where he was even a PPG player. Last year he had a breakout season and by following it up with another season and proving that it wasn't a 1 hit wonder, he is quickly turning into a superstar.

Except Tkachuk brought more to the table than just points. Now that he's added much more points to his resume, he's an even bigger one.

^ That's the trade thread. My comment on that day was if Huberdeau and Weegar re-signed, that it was a grand slam win for the Flames.
It had a tongue in cheek vibe, or at least I read it as such. Perhaps I'm guilty of perceiving it that way because I tend to poke the bear in similar situations. You having Oil in your name is merely a coincidence.
I've noticed far more vitriol from fellow Flames than any Oiler fans trolling which isn't all that shocking. We're all an emotional bunch due to the past year. Couple that with the sheer denial of the biggest rival having their best chance at a deep run, superstar players leaving for greener pastures, and in the case of Tkachuk, having more success during the playoffs...it just leads to a more dire forum overall.

I think it's your assertion that he's "becoming" a superstar. It infers two things: that he's not already a superstar; and that as a fan of a team that has two superstars, yours should be the voice of reason on this matter.
I wish there was a way to run real-life experiments with rosters. One experiment I would like to try is swapping Tkachuk and Draisaitl, and leave everything else the same. Same lineups, coaches etc.
I just think it would be interesting to see the resulting point totals, not just for the two players, but for the teams and the rest of the rosters as well.
Back to the series, Boston is dominating but need to stop giving the Panthers absolute gifts...first and last goals last night and others in the series

For the Coilers, Coiler media and Coiler fans, points are the be all end all. Why else would they feverishly employ stat padding? To them, a complete 200 foot game means nothing…

Where did you get this from? I recall people saying he really wanted the C and that would have moved the needle.
I've never heard that, and I find it hard to beleive. He wanted UFA as soon as possible. I think back when his last contract was signed 5 years was the max you could have squeezed out of him (and that's a huge maybe which would have cost more than he'd earned at the time). And, at the time, there was a captain already.
You think, after Gaudreau walked, and Tkachuk had real leverage, he'd have stayed for a captaincy? He didn't get one in Fla. He just got a lot of money and a beach. And you think the Flames just made that a deal breaker this time around?
Bruins absolutely dominated last game... doubt Panthers can steal another. They need to be better with the puck. Most of what Florida is getting is off turnovers.

According to Adam Ruzicka in an interview he did on Gaborik's podcast, Tkachuk wanted to be captain and felt disrespected by Flames management when he was told no, which played a role in him wanting out. Tkachuk also said that there was a time that he was willing to sign a long term deal. People can believe what they want, but I am not sure why Ruzicka would just make up something like that. Ruzicka also needs to maybe not go around spilling dirt like that either though.
"I don't know what else played a role there, but he really insisted on being captain and I think they couldn't fulfill that request, which played a big role in him leaving"

I'm fully expecting that tonight is the end of the road for the Panthers after putting up a fight, but I'd be pretty happy to see this go seven if they have it in them.
