If you’re worried about the PK then put Mangiapane and Lindholm out there as they are two PKer that are also good at 4-4.
If you’re worried about the face off then Lindholm is still the better choice based on the larger sample size of the whole season.
It’s a ridiculous decision and it’s just one of the many examples of his ridiculous bench management.
And it just speaks to how passive this coaching staff is and why they won’t win. You can win in the NHL by playing it so safe.
You’re down by a goal. It’s a 4-4 chance where the game opens up and you have a guy like Gaudreau who is good in those situations. And instead you’re so worried about the face off and the ensuing PK that you put out the journeyman 4th liner to take the face off.
Just no guts at all by Geoff Ward. He’s coaches a scared and passive hockey game and IMO you can’t win in any sport by playing scared and passive.
It’s like kicking the ball on 4th and 2 from midfield in the NFL when you’re down by 10 in the 4th quarter. Just pure chicken poop.

What a surprise. You don't like a female tv person.
Has nothing to do with sex, it has to do with doing a quality job. I don't like Francis either so you can't say I'm being sexi... nope, you're right, I have something against estrogen on the broadcast.
The above post is jab at Eric Francis being a wanker and is not a statement on female broadcasters. There are many great female broadcasters, I just haven't seen any on Sportsnet.
I've never agreed with Francis more than that intermission. Stajan was an overglorified plug for years with this team, so seeing Stajan get fed his lunch was glorious.
This game has the same energy level as flames vs wild on a Sunday afternoon matinee
