Yes the red for the eye and the stripe make the eye look menacing, and provide a good contrast as a stripe.

And, a different color which they can use down the road more on merchandise(though I still think the alternate jersey will be one of those lighter shades of blue with the anchor)

If they wanted to use the neon shade of green it would've been instead of one of the shades of blue. But then your mimicking the Seahawks which they don't need to or should do.

Also, while I think the S is very cool, saw this somewhere, and it does like like olde school English font for Seagram's.

I'm surprised at how many people like the name and logo! I think the colors are good, but the concept is terrible...

The launch event was much more successful than the Golden Knights launch ("stuff is falling from the sky!"), so hopefully that means the team will be far less successful on the ice than Vegas was/is.

As a swede, this name is funny. A "krake" in swedish could be translated to "poor old fellow".

On the other hand, a sockeye in swedish is called "indian salmon."..

Suddenly I felt an urge to post this completely unrelated Marvel ad.

I don't think another expansion team could possibly be as successful as VGK. Teams were spooked by the expansion rules the first time around, and I doubt GMs will make the same mistakes again with the sorts of deals they made in order to protect their players.

No, but this time around GMs will be in a cap crunch and will likely make similar deals to free up space.

Seattle could make out just as well as Vegas did in that regard.

I think it might actually be a bit of an improvement on the red.

Thanks AC!
I really like the design they chose, but now that I've seen this, I wish they had really chosen green over red. Looks awesome.

Now just eliminate all the red/green altogether and see how it looks. My guess is very clean... might need a thicker stripe on the bottom.

Can’t use Totem’s as a name. That’s appropriation of First Nation culture. Best to stay as far away from anything controversial.

I hope their Mascot is named Phil.

Phil the Kraken has such a good sound.

The red looks good on the white jerseys, but the murky, deep sea water feeling of the dark jerseys with that green highlight is great.

It's interesting how much the red highlight actually takes away from the deep water feeling of the look. If they just did the red eye maybe it would work better.

Having just fiddled around with it on my phone, I definitely like the green highlights with red logo eye the most.

Terrible name, will be one of those teams that are called by the name of the city instead of the team name. Seattle vs Flames, tonight!

I don't hate the imagery, just the word has no flow to it. It has nothing to do with the region...would have preferred the Brouhahas, Lumberjacks or even the Recyclers.
