The teams don't play the same number of games. It's odd, but the playoffs are determined by winning percentage.

Some teams in the Pacific division play fewer games than those in the rest of the league. I don't know exactly why but it's just what they do. That's why the AHL uses points percentage for the standings and not just points.

What do you mean? I thought that the AHL was like the NHL, they played a set number of games and teams with the most points made it to the playoffs.

Actually, there is a #### tone of evidence that suggests Janko is not better at the moment then either of those players.
If I had a dime for every time some one declared whipping boy veteran of the month is worse than exciting prospect that 80% of people on here have never seen play outside of highlight reels, and then that player not succeed at all at the NHL level (or ever make the NHL)I could retire today.
The most bizzare phenomenon on here, people confidently declaring that player x, who's never seen any NHL action is easily an upgrade over veteran player who's been a consistent NHL player for years. Really bizzare.

The target was the split. That's still very much on. We win game 2 and I think we're in good shape coming back home.
Got a strong feeling we pull it out tomorrow.

Everyone in the media (like the TSN example below) is praising Gettzlaf and the Ducks and crapping on the Flames for their poor line changes and undisciplined play.

If the Flames were going to stumble, it may be better that they did it early in this series. If they can regroup, they still have a great chance to take this series - just win 4 of 6 against the Ducks!
But Hamilton has to keep his head in the game, they have to keep skating, and hopefully GG finds a way to get Ferland more ice time. I would certainly try him on the PP.
Overall a good game from Elliott, Ferland, Stone, Versteeg, Bennett, and Gio. Would like Johnny to have a bit more jump - and the 3M line needs to re-engage. Backlund seemed out of sorts last night, hopefully no injury issue there. Bouma better not take any more dumb penalties, and hopefully Brouwer can still step it up another gear.

A loss tomorrow makes game 3 and likely 4 must wins, but tomorrow is not a must win, although it would be a significantly better outcome.

If you're going to scratch anyone from the forward group I think it has to be Chiasson.
Didn't like his game at all last night. Didn't bring nearly enough of that french canadian grease to the table and was arguably the goat on the first hamilton penalty that lead to the poor start from the Flames.

How they respond in game 2 will tell a lot if this series ends in 5 or goes the distance

It needs to be said re Johnny:
He is Daniel Larusso and the Ducks are the Cobra Kai.
He better be practicing the crane technique today on the beaches of Cali. Just sayin.

No problem. Daniel won the all valley championship in the end, so I still have faith.

Well, on the Ducks second goal we sure had the "no can defence" part down pat. :/
