Did anyone hear what they were saying about the Olympics during the intermission?
Missed most of it myself. Just overheard something like McDavid and Matthews growing up "used" to seeing NHL players in the Olympics and they should be in it too.

There was a rumor going around that the NHLPA was going to agree to a 19 year old entry draft in exchange for the NHL agreeing to go to the olympics but that was denied. NHLPA firmly believes they don't need to give up anything to go to the Olympics
Last time they announced they were going to the Olympics was announced in July the year before but the deal was agreed to in February and the details were just finialzied in July.
lots of whining in the thread - Flames are winning - one period of this game from Jumping ahead of the Oilers, Bennett tunes Trouba, Backlund showing speed and a constant good game and the thread is about homerism, poor commentary and biased commercials.
Win and get ahead of the Oilers
I think it's not too dissimilar to the game back in November when they outclassed the Jets. Not saying it's in the bag yet but it's clear that there's only one playoff calibre team on the ice.
Remember when the Flames used to outplay teams, but still lose? Man, those were the times.
I don't think this is the signs of a streak ending. I think its a good team that is not playing its best, but still finding ways to win. If the Flames can finish this one off, its a hat tip to Elliott and the PP.

Jets are more desperate but it feels like the Flames' structure holds just fine. Nice to be on the positive side of that difference.
