I agree but think it takes quite a bit more than that.
Could be a very astute buy low move as this time last year he was arguably the top goalie prospect in the league.

He's been a big disappointment. I wouldn't offer one of our best prospects.

Yeah Mrazek has been brutal this year until lately and Howard has re-emerged... and Mrazek is owed 4 mil next year with Howard on an even longer term deal you'd think Mrazek will get exposed to Vegas potentially. Although Howard is 32 so maybe they would risk him and try to get rid of his money instead I can't see Vegas taking him anyway.
It seems like if Detroit could move the money on either goalie they probably would. I can't see them getting anything great in return.

Seems like both would be exposed as Coreau is highly thought of by the wings.

Some comedy gold here.
The only way that trade would make any kind of sense from the Flames stand point was if the major prospect was Charlie McAvoy and even then I don't think I would do it.
Why does he keep bringing up Deharnais? There are zero teams interested in Deharnais.

He's been a disappointment this season. The previous two was great. Detroit has some of the worst d in the league as well. He will be a bonafide #1 IMO. Buy low and possibly see great reward.

Does Coreau need to be protected?

Any trade sending Hamilton to St Lou better have Tarasenko coming back the other way to Calgary.

Gross for Calgary. Shatty walks in the summer or costs $7M to keep. So we add the older players at a combined $14.5M cap hit instead of the younger players making $12.5M
I assume you are joking but in case you are not. Terrible trade for Calgary

Our goalie situation sucks, but I would be very pissed if this team gives up a first or a good prospect for Mrazek.

from Friedman's 30 thoughts:
Coyotes Initial ask to Montreal for Hanzal was McCarron and a 1st round pick and a conditional pick
There is more willingness to trade 1st round picks this year because it isn't considered to be a strong draft
Toronto looking for a depth centre
Tim Murray threw cold water on rumors that Lehner was going to be traded after Lehner's anger at being pulled last week
Speculates if a Bishop for Shattenkirk deal makes sense
Wonders if Yzerman doesn't believe that the Lightning are worth saving this season and stands pat and focuses on next year.
Wonders if instead of getting a winger for Tavares, the Islanders are looking for another centre to take the load off Tavares.
Tomas Jurco wants out of Detroit and Wings are trying to accomodate him.
A few weeks ago, a couple of GMs thought Washington might be in the mix for one of Colorado's forwards, but with how well things are going for the caps right now, why change anything?

Wouldn't mind taking a flyer on Jurco if he comes cheap. Underperforming this year (although stuck behind Mantha and Nyquist), but plays RW, has blazing speed and a big body. Has suffered back injuries though. Probably wouldn't cost us an arm and a leg.

^Based on this season the Isles would need to add quite a bit to Hamonic to get Backlund.
I think a deal around Bennett makes more sense but I don't think the Flames want to trade Bennett. Don't see a fit here in terms of trading partners.

I think backlund is the home run trade. If this team is still 2/3 years away then Bennett needs to stay and backs painfully is the best chip we have. Such a punch in the gut trade, but the best and probably the only trade that nets us a solid young return without costing us a young blue chip or pick.
Makes me sick as iv always liked Backlund.
