Haha, I think the orphans are mine as well.
In hindsight, I over-reacted and give credit to the coaching staff on a difficult decision.
And to the players for reacting the right way.

Quite the series of events. I am certainly guilty of over reacting in my feelings towards what happened. I don't know if the bigger over reaction is 1) assuming there was a deep problem that finally resulted in the 1 game benching or 2) reading a few apologies and believing that everything is perfect again.
In any regard, the spotlight on Monahan and Gaudreau just got brighter. Will be interesting to see how the players and team respond.

Yes, they all spoke to the media this morning. Videos are on the Flames' website.

I think Hartley was also looking at the bigger picture, he doesn't want the young guys to fall into bad influences. Much in the same way he was looking out for Ferland.

I like how in Gaudreau's interview he says it "probably" won't happen again. Not that I think he meant that but I chuckled.

Haha, are you ever butthurt?
Polak, it was a great game man. There was the conflict between Giordano and Kadri, lots of goals, lots of chances and pucks off the post. Lots of hits. Then you come onto the forum after the game tooting your own charitable horn and complaining about Gaudreau and Monahan being scratched
You do know that they could be scratched for any number of reasons, don't you? Flu in the locker room, death in the family, minor injury maintenance, etc. You not getting to see them is the risk of owning tickets.
And if you can't see that going to the Flames game is a first world event, you really are out of touch. Nobody feels sorry for you being upset about Hartley's decision. Lol.

I heard the audio of those interviews. They were really really good apologies. Hit all the right points.
Of course, talk is cheap but I believe them.

I disagree, I didn't think it was a great game. I thought it was sloppy and kind of what I expected from these two teams, at this point in the season.

A sloppy game doesn't necessarily mean a bad game from a spectator point of view, since mistakes = scoring chances.
A well played game is nice from an technical point of view, but can get a little boring.

For example, the first 5 mins of the third the Flames iced the puck how many times? I lost count.

A few, but there was also a pretty long stretch without a whistle IIRC.

Obviously, it is subjective.
I found the game to sloppy.
I have no doubt that you and I could watch the same game and have different take aways.
