Canada's so bad at crossing the ball they nearly scored!

To me it seems like Canada has done what most of the internet has done... not talk much about Dickenmann. The problem with 3 dynamic goal scorers is that Canadian defenders will have to make big one-on-one plays to contain because help will be slow to arrive. That's why Wilkinson is in.

I think we're alright so far. They had the advantage down our left flank, Abbe has 6 inches on Belanger and a whole bunch of caps and experience so it looks like we got her out of there which is good. Right side looking better and we have a significant advantage in the midfield with the athleticism of Lawrence. Bachmann and Dickenmann are way better two-way players than Sinclair, which I think might become a factor later on.

Devos is dead on " in the last third Canada has run out of ideas"

If Bachmann could pick the Canada lineup she would have Sesselmann play defence

Well she just walked around Buchanan, Tancredi and Sess as if none of them were there. So I don't think Bachmann gives a fata at this point.

To me it looks like the Canadians are trying to rush everything when they have the ball. They're trying to push the pace on counter attack but aren't using the space that is available to them. Push it wide and opening the Swiss

^ Get Lawrence on the wing if we want to try that. She seems to be the only one making progress so I like trying to beat them up the middle with her, actually. And stop going at Abbe on the left wing cause there's nothing there to be had.

Yeah but that's waaaaay too much space to give the best player in the world (not Chapman's fault, plan seems to be to pin her to Crnogorcevic)

I love supporting Canada in any international tournament, and I'm really starting to enjoy soccer, but good lord is it tough to watch this Canadian team. They literally can't think of a single thing to do offensively once they pass centre.

Once they pass centre, they're lucky if they complete one more pass. This is absolutely infuriating to watch.

Even more so because they are completely beatable at the back. This isn't some impenetrable line aside from Abbe, but we keep going at her and then are surprised when she wins. The one thing not to do against them, we're doing, and I wonder if all our prep time for this game went into the Bachmann containment strategy.

Problem is that Bachmann has already shown that containing her is impossible unless you want to leave a couple of other competent forwards open (case in point - first ten minutes with Dickenmann), so we need to win this game with offense. I like the lineup we have on the field, just have to use it better. I don't think Fleming, Leon or Kyle give us anything we don't already have on the field.

Can McLeod take all set pieces? Even corners?

The back check of Bachmann has burned us at least 3 times and we seem to have no idea it's coming... Herdman must not have made any mention of it at half time.

The consistent 2nd effort on that attack made all the difference on that resulting in a goal.
There has been way to much collapsing by Canada mids.
Hopefully this kicks them into to gear.
They have been far to over attention to just shape.

Sesselmann's incompetence is what makes these games interesting.
