CP has been known for having quality hockey talk as well as a sense of camaraderie among members. Over the past few years I have noticed that there has been a decrease in this, with a lot more snarky bickering, tired (bordering on offensive jokes - ie fotze mom jokes), and people more intent on a quick one-liner rather than actual conversation. This is something that I have noticed in myself as well and my posting habits.

There is a need to ensure that this message board is run in a professional and responsible sense, a thread dedicated to ogling women goes against good taste and is something that the owners (those who put money towards the site) have decided that they don't want to be associated with and that needs to be respected.

There are a number of posters here who need to dial the faux-masculinity act down a few notches as well and I am intrigued to see if these changes will really promote better discussion.

I'm not sure that the deletion of a single thread is going to promote better discussion about politics, pizza or the neutral zone trap.

If thats what the mods are going for, then I'm a little bit confused.

It doesn't take much courage passively-aggressively call people out like that. Especially given you evidently lack the ability to respond to their arguments directly.

That is true, but it would be nice if this was a sign of larger changes made and an enforcement of rules designed to make this a safe place for discussion regardless of gender.

So it wasn't just as simple as telling people not to click on certain threads. That, and as your wife mentioned it made the place less welcoming.

Reminds me of when Studio 82 had a bikini bar upstairs. We would go to the main bar for wing night, and some of our female friends decided they no longer wanted to join us. It didn't matter that we weren't going upstairs for wings. The point was what was going on in the place.
Oh. I wasn't aware of that (I don't use the mobile app) and it changes things drastically for me regarding the whole issue. If that's the case, I'm surprised it took this long to happen.
