Pretty sure if you buy factory unlocked from an Apple Store you should be just fine.

Yeah I remember reading up on that on the 4S. I would *think* that if it's from the apple store you're good, but there are a number of models and IIRC on the 4S some of the US models weren't a global phone due to some being GSM, some being CDMA, different bands and such as well.

Just perused this quick but it might help you out:

I'd be concerned about a US model not having all of the LTE frequencies. With our carriers rolling out higher speed LTE, it seems silly to take that risk. Never mind using up all of your duty free exemption.

Good point. I forgot how on some occasions Canada is a bit ahead of the curve. I guess cellphone service and parking payment systems being the most prominent.

I sure wish I could find a grey/silver iPhone 6 plus 64GB or bigger. I want to buy one outright from Apple instead of being locked into a contract. All the guys at my office got theirs from Bell and I'm just left checking every day at Apple's inventory to no avail.

Real well. Downloaded a bunch of music for a drive through the mountains this summer and didn't run into any issues. Also worth noting it won't download the songs to your device as you play them like Match does, so it's easier on the hard drive space.

Unless I'm reading your post wrong (which I could be) Google Play most certainly does download songs onto your hard drive.

There is a streaming option (which I think you're using), but I wouldn't do that OTA unless I had a massive data plan.

The ability to download songs to your devices is one of the main reasons I want to upgrade my phone to 128GB HD

I should have been more clear. By default it streams the music, but should you want the music on your hard drive for some reason, you can download it. In theory that's how one would expect Match to work, but instead it downloads the songs as you listen to them. I'm not sure if that's part of their licensing agreement, but it's an annoying feature for those of us with space concerns on our devices.

I have a 6 gig data plan, so I stream music every day while driving, but I understand that's a bit more data than most have.

The iPhone commercials or the Samsung ones mocking the iPhone?

Finally received my 6+ this evening. Perhaps my expectations were lowered by the less-than-enthusiastic first impressions, because I'm very impressed. I was beginning to expect a phone that I couldn't hold comfortably or fit into a pocket, but truthfully neither are true for me (and I'm a wee, wee man). I don't wear skinny jeans but I also don't wear tactical pants, and I find the phone is fine in my pocket while sitting. While the size jump from the 4S to the 6+ is damn-near comical, the performance difference is equally surprising. So far I'm very happy.

So I'm the only CPer experiencing app crashes and shoddy touchscreen response (namely on landscaped apps)?
Just my luck

I've had one instance of poor touchscreen performance; but that was resolved with a re-boot. It's been fine again since then.

I had the phone app crash and lock the phone once, and Gmail app crashed out a few times, but otherwise been pretty stable. No touch screen issues.

I noticed last night pulling up control centre from the lock screen only worked some of the time. Nothing devastating but there's clearly a couple bugs worth paying attention to.

I have a few questions about the 6+ for you.

- Have you tried the camera yet?
- How's the camera?
- On on a scale of 1-10, how jealous of the camera should I be?
- Should I sell my DSRL camera gear to justify the purchase of the 6+ as my primary camera?
