Have to agree with the Cook or Get Out of the Kitchen camp. What has dominated our provincial government news the past 10 days? Whether or not certain MLAs would walk.
Get out. Or shut up.
I want the focus to be put back on the government record so accountability can be had.

George Rogers, MLA for Leduc-Beaumont since 2004, said he’s heard from upset constituents and party members concerned about problems within the Redford government. The deputy speaker of the legislature said he’s not considering crossing the floor to sit as an independent as two other Tory MLAs have done recently, but he’s also not happy with the turmoil gripping the Progressive Conservative party.
Rogers said problems need to be fixed and he’s had “some disagreement with a lot of what has transpired recently and have made those known in the (caucus) room — and I will continue to do that. But I’m looking for some swift resolutions,” he said.
“There does need to be a lot of change, certainly change where our leader is concerned in terms of, basically, how she conducts the job, herself in that role. And ultimately as a party, as a government, we have to do some things,” Rogers said in an interview.

New poll numbers.
Quote:
A new ThinkHQ Public Affairs survey on Wednesday showed the Wildrose at 46 per cent support among decided voters, with the PC falling to 19 per cent, the Liberals at 16 per cent, and NDP at 15 per cent.
The survey also showed Redford’s approval rating at 18 per cent — down from 35 per cent at the start of the year — while 75 per cent of Albertans questioned disapprove of her performance. Wildrose Leader Danielle Smith’s approval rating is 51 per cent, while the NDP’s Brian Mason is at 37 per cent and Liberal Raj Sherman’s approval is 36 per cent.
The online poll, conducted between March 10 and March 16, surveyed 1,688 Albertans. It has a stated margin of error of plus or minus 2.4 percentage points.

Looks like Redford's at Christy Clark levels of approval a year before Clark won the election.

How terrible of a Premier is Redford when she can prop up Danielle Smith's approval rating to 51%.

On Twitter that's basically what everyone says is coming. Things are going to really interesting in the next year or two if that's the case.

I wish they had to call an election. Second time in a row the PC's are turfing a lame duck leader before an election loss.
They should have to face the electorate with a new platform if Redford's is suddenly gone.

Would you rather they keep ####ty leaders? I'd rather not catapult some rural party with no solutions into power as a "gotcha!"

I wonder if Redford will have her "Building Alberta" signs behind her when she makes her announcement.

What would you have them do here exactly? You agree that she should be out, right? So you want them to run with no leader? Surely we shouldn't have to sit through two years of this just so the Wild Rose gets a better shot at winning?

Stop electing everyone's third choice as leader so they don't have to be turfed after two years would be a start.

Alison Redford is the Vancouver Canucks of politics. The collapse was swift, and it was epic.

You are both right, of course. Ideally, I would say in a situation like this, the government should be mandated to call an election within one year of the premier announcing their resignation. Gives the party enough time to choose a new leader and establish policy changes.

- Just about the first word she says is "me"
- Backhanded attacks on Wildrose
- The "balanced budget" lie
Nice start in the first minute of that speech.
