Smith has not been fine in every game. I think we need to realize that we thought the flames were deep on D for the 5th and 6th spot, and in fact they are not. I am not sure any of the 4 are legit full time bottom pairing d-men.

Ugh, we can't even compete with teams playing their backups and third stringers anymore. At one point every team put their backups in against Edmonton, and now it's us (and yes I realize Lehtonen is hurt).

It's difficult. You saw Dillon hit Iginla in the 1st period just a second after the puck was released and he got a penalty. The refs will call everything.
The Flames aren't losing this because they aren't physical, they're losing because they're not skating.
Second period woes like usual.
