I don't think we should be pushing people to share if they don't want to. But I think T@T covered it here:

I'm not pushing him -- he brought up how he voted, after all.

Your quoted post sheds plenty of light on the reasoning behind it, though.

This one is pretty good, from a pastor in NC:

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/nati...icle-1.1082160

The logic behind this part makes my head hurt:

“I figured a way to get rid of all the lesbians and queers,” he says.
“Build a great, big, large fence — 150- or 100-mile long — put all the lesbians in there . . . do the same thing for the queers and the homosexuals, and have that fence electrified so they can’t get out.
“Feed ’em, and you know what?” Worley continues. “In a few years they’ll die. Do you know why? They can’t reproduce.”

Straight people don't produce gay offspring - good to know.

There are lots of reasonable people who have terrific reasons behind opposing gay marriage.

Even if homosexuals need to be put behind electric fences.

I'm at the library voting as many times as I can from different computers.

P.S., I love Anderson Cooper. Easily the best news personality out there, IMO. He's just so damn likeable. That was an hilarious interview.

Wow, eight people out of 146 that voted oppose gay marriage. The times are a changin', and the Mikey's of the world are being left behind. It's very good to see.

This was interesting, it seemed really unfortunate but check out the comments:
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/05/26/bu...it_th_20120526

About 8 years ago when I thought civil union was OK what's the big deal about calling it marriage, a good friend said it's a little like when black people had to ride in the back of the bus. You're all going to the same place so why does it matter if you have to ride inthe back? That's when I got it. Human rights shouldn't be subject to referendum, the majority can and sometimes do vote against minority rights.

What I find so hilarious is these are the same people who are pro-life and campaign so aggressively for that cause, and how every single life is precious, yet they continue to attack and try to destroy and devalue the lives of people already on this earth.

Ok, lets get this straight, I am as an honest person against anyone or government telling any minority how to live their lives in a private way..this includes gay people.Over the years I have had many gay friends, granted most are females which for some reason I don't find far from normal but non the less none of them flaunt it in public anyway.

On a personal level other than trying to explain to my young son why two men are kissing(in public) I spent 3 days in jail as a 17 year old for assault causing bodily harm because some fruitcake molester thought I was too drunk to fight back...he was wrong and probably still has brain problems from the beating I gave him.(If he's still alive)

Hope this helps your curiosity.

I can understand having a problem with the guy that tried to attack you, but I still don't see why that would cause you to be against gay marriage specifically while still having "many gay friends" otherwise. But thanks for your explanation.

Anyway, your last line makes me feel as if you felt I was pestering you into going into detail. You were the one that brought up exactly how you voted, I just asked why.

No problem, I'm not really against gay marriage(could care less really..but keep it private) but the old school in me tells me gay marriage might bring it even more open and public,as bad as this sounds(and I apologise for being a an old dick) I still don't think gays should openly parade their stuff in public.

BTW, any conversations about this with some gay friends are possitive, they say they understand and even admit that being gay can sometimes bring the pride part in but they really just want to be left alone.

Sounds to me like you should be against child molesters/criminals getting married.
