Blog post and comments of some of the experiences:

EDIT: I also hear they are (being forced?) to give out refunds to people in a few days - #wewantarefund trending upwards apparently. What a gongshow.

Hey – My name is Steve and I’m the spokesperson and one of the organizers of the show. I would like to follow up with you on how to make it right. Were you able to read the note on our website (http://bit.ly/I4gPyf) and did make it to the show on Sunday? Please tweet me @calgaryexpo. I look forward to speaking with you.
|
The same person who wrote the review of Saturday, did a review of sunday and had this to say.

All around a pretty fantastic day. This week’s episode of The Media Monks Podcast will be detailing some more on mine and Nathan’s experiences at the Expo so if interested be sure to check that out. I’m pretty happy with how big the CCEE is getting but the growing pains were definitely felt this year
|
Saturday was a massive gong show, I left with a very bitter taste in my mouth like most. Thankfully however, it appears that the organizers improved on Sunday (though it wasn't perfect) and are already taking steps to improve things for next year.

Wil's also a huge LA Kings fan so I'm guessing he's probably well familiar with the city. Should have asked him if his opinion on Darryl Sutter has changed. I know he was pretty pissed about that hiring on Twitter when it was announced.

That is exactly what I would have asked. But I didn't spend any money for a photo.

Aside from standing in line for two hours to get in I had a blast on Saturday. It was my first time at the event and I'll defiantly be back. I'll do it differently next time, but I will be back.
It will be super tough to top 8 cast members of TNG. What there were 9? Tasha Yar doesn't count.

I don't know if anyone can answer this but what do people like Wil Whhheaton or Hayden Panettiere get paid to show up to these events? Does this Expo pay their travel, hotel, etc. plus a booking fee?
I've always been curious how they get them to show up and figured money was the leading factor.

I think they make pretty good money charging for photos and autographs.

They get a guaranteed amount, ie $10,000. Anything over and above is theirs.
I'm not sure about accommodations, I never asked about that...

At $40 an autograph I think they're making pretty decent money. How long do they take with each person? 30 seconds? At $40/autograph and 30 seconds per autograph, that's about $4800 in an hour.

When you say theirs do you mean the Expo or the celeb?
Thanks for the insight, I knew money would be involved but wasn't sure how much. I guess it would depend on the person on how much they make as well. I wonder how much it would cost for a 1-on-1 with Hayden.

The celebs, it was a few years ago when I asked the promoter what the deal was, I could be wrong.

Some costumes not seen in the other gallery. Oh, and Canadian Super heros are WAY better than American!

At first I couldn't figure out if they were real or a part of the costume. I stared to. I don't think she minded when anyone stared at all. And yes they were real, well really attached to her at least. She's a french model with some pretty nice stuff if you Google her. And boy did I ever want to Google all over her!
