But it was still a horribly officiated game. Miami was still going to win regardless of the officials, but it was bad.

It is more about when a team wins by 30 that the refs do t have much to do with it and if you are so jaded by hate to not recognize the talent that the Heat have not sure what the point of following the NBA is.

Seemed like a typical NBA game where the better team gets the benefit of the calls moreso than Miami specifically getting ref help.

Yep, if it weren't for Derick Rose getting hurt we would likely have two 1 vs 2 matchups in the Conference Finals. Instead we get the Heat and Celtics who are both the higher seeds and were expected to win their current series. Then there is the Spurs and Thunder and the other side, which is predictable as ever.

The NBA might as well reformat its playoffs like the MLB had it, and only let a few teams in as you never see lower ranked teams make an impact in the playoffs anyway.

Much like there is no point in watching the regular season, there is also no point in watching the first two rounds.

Well, if anyone has been watching NBA basketball for any extended period of time, they'll tell you most games are horribly officiated, and they mostly are. So it needs to be astronomically bad to have an outcome on the game. Last night wasn't even that bad, mostly because the Pacers were so soft last night, taking jump shot after jump shot, despite having a massive size advantage. If they don't pound it inside for game 6 this series is over.

Of course the real NBA Finals is the Western Conference finals, so it doesn't particularly matter who comes out of the East, they just get the honour of getting worked by the Spurs or Thunder. I actually think the Pacers would have the best chance against either because of their depth, but Miami or Boston would both lose in 5 to either Western Conference champ.

Celtics-76ers is going to a game 7. I think Boston will win but good for Philly on getting it to a game 7 (and who knows, maybe they can pull off the upset).

Boy I hope the Sixers take the Celtics out. The Celtics would get destoryed by either the Heat or Pacers. Scoring 80 points a game to win a championship isn't going to work.

Lets be real, the Heat advanced to the NBA Finals last night. Boston might get swept and I don't see either them or Philly going further than 5 games. Regardless, can't wait for the real NBA Finals to start Sunday.

I'm interested to know why you think this series is predictable as ever?

Both teams have hit their strides in the playoffs.

The Spurs are on a 19 or something game winning streak and have a victory margin of over 10 points in the playoffs going 8-0

and

The Thunder swept the reigning champion Mavericks with relative ease and then went on to beat the Lakers in 5 despite playing poorly in games 2, 3, and 4.

I can see this being the best series in the entire playoffs.

I think Spurs Vs Thunder will be a good series but the Spurs are looking unbeatable right now. I'd love to see San Antonio Vs Miami Finals. I think that's the one team that could beat the Heat this year.

I am not saying the result is predictable, just the fact that these two were bound to meet in the finals. You could have probably made the guess ten games into the season and nothing has changed since then.

That is what is wrong with the NBA, assuming the Celtics win tonight the four teams remaining would have been the same four foretasted from day one (with Rose's injury). Sure the same happens in the NHL, but not nearly the same as the NBA.

Also, the Spurs/Thunder series should be pretty damn good, but that doesn't mean that the first two rounds were any better.

I as well hope the Spurs win as Popovich is the best coach in the NBA and would have the best strategy to shut down the two player threat in Miami (assuming Bosh is still out).

The reason the NBA is so hard to take seriously. It has the most undramatic game 7's in all of sports. There is no other sport where a game 7 can be happening and you can almost guarantee one team will win. The Celtics have had a lot of these games, very much like the Heat/Pacers would have been.

Regardless who wins the West they'll be the favorites against Miami. I think the Spurs would beat them in 5 and the Thunder in 6.

OKC played pretty well for three quarters, but San Antonio's execution in the 4th was nearly flawless. Should be a fun series.
