holy ####, what's with Ted Danson and unexpected heel turns? First it was his real life self in black facing, then The Good Place and now this?
Should've pulled the same sinister laughter in the Orville
Spoiler!
I don't know if it was really a heel turn. Like Charley he saw no possibility of piece with the Kaylon. He thought what he was doing was protecting his race from extermination. He knew he had a weapon that couldn't be used against humans. That he gave it to the two enemies of Humanity to do the dirty work is a whole other discussion.
Even at the end he was duty bound, he was returning home to turn himself in.
He's certainly not a hero, I wouldn't argue that in any way. But he wasn't a mustache twirling villain.
His story line was similar to the Admiral in Star Trek 6 who couldn't see any good in ending the war with the Klingons.

Man, that episode was incredible. During the fighter battle, I was almost expecting a “stay on target” line from one of the fighter pilots before being blown away. Lol
Also, Anne Winters was a great addition to the cast.

The tough thing now is not knowing if there will be a season 4. And while there might be interest, none of the actors are under contract and have moved on to other projects and availability will be a question.
This didn't feel like a series finale, they're a long way from resolving anything with the key races and we could end up with a 3 way war.

Loved to see the return of the 3. The Sandwich, Lesylla and Alara. Though explaining the prime directive over and over to Lesylla again got alittle annoying.
The wedding was great and lol too hard at seeing holodeck Issac at the stagette
Scott Grimes singing the show out was perfect. Hoping this wont be our last as there's a strong push for a Season 4
lol #RenewTheOrville is trending as I'm typing this
Malloy is Malarkey from Band of Brothers. Had been trying to place him for the whole series. Mind blown.
I'm not sure if having that nagging feeling you know the actor from somewhere is better or worse than have the IMDB app open at least once or twice per every show/movie I watch.
I'm always checking to see what else they're in if they're good, bad, attractive, etc.
He was also in Mystery Alaska and played a team mate of a notorious CalgaryPuck poster.
I really liked the last episode because it just felt like a heartfelt goodbye with the Cast. Who knows if the show will get a forth season. I hope it does because its become one of the better shows on TV and is clearly a labor of love to the Science fiction universe.
Spoiler!
Just little things.
Gordon asking about playing music on the bridge, goes back to the first episode, with LaMarr asking if they can drink pop on the bridge.
Isaac's body language when 4000 Kaylon show up and Claire is asking him what he was thinking. Just his head motion and then the slow turn back to the console made me laugh.
Bortas doing Elvis badly, and then the wedding speech, he's such a great straight man.
Kelly and Ed holding hands at the end, I'm getting soft but I was like that's amazing.
Alara returning for the wedding, was a nice moment.
Isaac describing marriage to Primary and the retort "It sounds like enslavement". Every married guy was probably like yeah.
The Stripper Isaac.
Through the episode they had a chance and did a better job of describing the Prime Directive in a simple manner then Star Trek ever has.
Gordon singing the show off as we got one last loving look at the Orville.
Frankly everything really worked in this show. The characters developed and evolved. They tackled a lot of tough questions. Lots of high adventure and great effects and loved the background music.
I'll be sad to see it go if it is the end.

I can't believe it took someone to say this on Twitter for me to realize Klyden is played by Chad Coleman, of Cutty (The Wire) and Tyreese (The Walking Dead) fame.
