Who wants to try Eclipse soon - maybe this weekend?

Possibly, or whenever there is enough interest. I think we need 4 players.

Checked with Mrs Rathji, and apparently every day this weekend I am unavailable.

I can get behind a game of eclipse... maybe not this weekend or next though

Friday the 7th might be doable, but I'm running a day long Blood Bowl tournament on the 8th and I might need to do some last minute things.

I love the classics like Scrabble, Monopoly and Life. I have also had a good time playing games where my sense of humour can shine like Apples to Apples and Things, humor in a box.

Just got notice of shipping for Mr. Madison's War by GMT. It's a two player game on the war of 1812. Cigar and scotch not included.

What is the playtime like on Pandemic? BGG claims it is an hour, but sometimes that is wishful thinking.

I am thinking of picking it up for a family Christmas present, but with some people, if the game drags out it becomes less than desirable. (Read: Mrs Rathji hates when games take to long and starts getting pissy)

I think it can be played in under an hour, especially when one player tells everyone else what to do.

An hour is fair, depends how many epidemic cards you put in the deck. I think the high end is 6 cards which will probably piss off the wife (pissed mine off) but a normal game is 4 and 5 is what I think is a fair challenge for players.

Haven't tried the expansion but want to buy it. Great game though.

Have you seen the new signage at Sentry Box? They now claim to be the largest gaming store in the world. Impressive. Some of us remember when they were beside the tattoo shop on 33rd ave.

1st play 90 minutes
2nd play 75 minutes
3rd+ 50-70 minutes

Alot if it depends on how well it was described and the type of person(s) you play with.

Yeah Pandemic is typically about 45-60 minutes but I've had losses end in 15 minutes. Haha.

I'm looking to get rid of my Munchkin Quest Board Game if anyone is interested, We played it once and never got into it. $30 and its yours, I'm more of a dominion fan. I'd probably entertain trade offers also.

Picked up Dungeon Fighters last week and we played it Saturday Night. Its a really fun dexterity game thats good for some laughs. We played Dominion first then tried this out and ended up playing until 2am. Its a good game to play with friends and a few drinks. There isn't much thinking involved in this game just good ol fun.

Played a second game of Twilight Imperium today with four players as opposed to 6.

Last weekend with 6 we played for 4 1/2 hours and didn't finish, two guys had to go home.

Today with four of us who knew what we were doing, it went a little better. We finished the game in 3 1/2 hours.

I played Ti3, with 2 expansions and all rules, with 7 players, on Friday night. Started set up about 5, and finally had to stop shortly after midnight when the second player had to bail.

I would have won, but we decided to continue when the first person quit on us, and it put me in a very poor position, fighting off 2 players who suddenly only had me as an opponent and a whole bunch of free extra resources. The last round we played, they managed to take my home base and I was not able to get the objective to push me over the top. Ended up in a 3 way tie.

We certainly the most efficient game I had ever played with this group. Everyone knew what was going on for the most part, even though it was the first time with the second expansion for most of us, it didn't really impact game play that much, save the new strategy cards.

edit - Forgot the original reason I came to this thread: I am looking for a small to mid-sized case to hold a few decks of cards, dice, game markers etc, maybe dominoes, paper pads (Yahtzee or Scrabble type) or something similar. Since it is so close to Christmas, I would prefer something local.

Something like these perhaps, but with room for pads:

Is Agricola suitable for 2 players? I am looking at getting it for a friend but I imagine it will be played primarly by two players.
