Wasn't a work of art by any stretch, but they won, which is all that matters. Great ball from Miller and nice finish from David on the opener. Davies was far and away the best player on the pitch and that's after a two month injury layoff.
Now it's time to walk the walk and win a trophy...

The US were the better team last night but their lack of discipline was so dumb. Mexico got frustrated and tried to lure the US into stupid cards and the US fell for it.
Works in our favour. No Dest or McKennie is huge for Sunday.

Just catching up on the USA-MEX match now. So Concacaf. Drink cups and ice raining down as Dest gets his hand in the Mexican's face with the referee literally inches away. Stupid way to get yourself sent off.
Laser pointer on the ref, stoppages due to the homophobic Mexican chanting. 12 minutes added on. What a pathetic bunch of "supporters".
Lack of discipline on both sides, but the Americans let themselves get baited. The Mexicans had nothing to lose, and the Americans are down two men for Sunday's final. This is fine by me though.
Edit: And now it ends 5 minutes "early" due to more chanting. Disgusting bunch. I hope that they get sanctioned again.

What is the actual chant they do? They seem to do it every single match.
It's shouting "puto" when the opposing keeper does a goal kick. Apparently that's homophobic, idk I don't speak Spanish so am not the best person to explain the meaning.
But enough about the Mexicans - Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!! I can get behind the "Canada as underdog, USA as favourites at home" angle. Lots of distractions in the USA camp - recent coaching changes, suspensions, etc.
Just show up and play, Canada. Get 'er done.

I thought the McKennie sending off was way too harsh. While he helped create the situation, he got mobbed and semi-incidentally touched a guy's neck. Dest looked like he was trying to get sent off.
Is there anyplace other than OneSoccer to watch this game on Sunday?
Fubo is another subscription service that has all of the OneSoccer stuff (Canadian Premier League, Canadian national teams, etc.) plus English Premier League, Serie A, and more.
But in terms of legal, traditional media? No dice. On one hand, it is a shame that matches like this can't be broadcast to the largest possible audience. On the other, OneSoccer / MediaPro invested in soccer in this country when nobody else would, so I'm alright with them holding the rights now that things are more in demand.
A win-win would be a sub-license to TSN, SN, or even CBC. Maybe one day.

It's worth noting that those networks only paid onesoccer for the sublicense after the qualifying campaign became too big to ignore, I think it wasn't until the edmonton games that sportsnet picked it up?
Shame that the nation's league final is such a quick event, there's no chance to build any momentum with the casuals (which is pretty par for the course with the national program)

McKennie started the whole thing though. The ref had the red card out immediately (his only good piece of refereeing) and then McKennie flew in and bodied the guy. That could’ve been the red card on its own but then he took a few swings as we he was getting mobbed.
But hey, not our problem
