Can we get a ring road from the ring road to the west side of HWY 40? What a mess the Trans Canada has become on weekends lately.
I remember driving to cottage country from Toronto 10 years ago and thinking "boy, am I glad my weekends don't start like this". Fast forward to today and that disaster is now just life almost every weekend.

I keep getting caught in the 1630 traffic from Stoney trail trying to get in to north-bound AB-2.
Westbound Stoney trail seems to get the worst delay as it merges with the flow off the eastbound Stoney ramp. Then you slog through the Malzac off-ramp -- 5 lanes of congestion.

The bridge they “opened” is still a giant cluster. Traffic was backed up to McLeod on Friday!

They spelled Chaparral wrong on the exit signs for Sun Valley and Chaparral Blvds.

Right two lane closures for the next 5 months then!

This ####ing bridge. Half an hour to go from Chapparal to Cranston exit. Only one lane open to replace all the signs they put up around this time last year. Hopefully no one in the SW has to go to the hospital tonight.

It's literally been a decade on that bridge, it's insane.

That area is just a terrible design in both directions and a real hazard. Too much weaving required and disparate speeds. You gotta be on your toes and be super aware of what everyone is trying to do and even then there’s a lot of scary moments. Not sure what the fix would ever be.

For the benefit of everyone, they could just close the Malzac ramps completely.

Re: 22x
They're repaving the westbound lanes leading to the bridge THEY JUST OPENED.
I can't.
Why didn't they pave this #### before they opened the bridge?
When will more then 2 lanes be open in either direction?
When will the cluster #### of old painted lines be fixed?

So, a very common way to drive to close to where I live would be Metis Trail -> Stoney -> QE2 Northbound.
In the 5km of travel from the Metis turnoff, to just north of the southern Cross iron turnoff, in order to stay on Northbound QE2, one must lane change to the left FIVE TIMES.
5 times in 5 km. And that's just to stay in the far right lane.

Likely failed acceptance necessitating rework.

They are paving the section that was used to cross over to the eastbound bridge when westbound traffic was crossing over. They've had to dig all that up, turn it back into a ditch and fix up the left lane.
But yeah, doesn't feel like it should be taking this long and lines are a mess.

I just use the left lane the whole time to avoid the issue

Not even possible in the movement I described - those lanes don't exist yet.

I just drove the southern edge of the Ringroad by Sicome and the never ending bridges over the Bow at 9 pm. Eastbound traffic was backed up and at a standstill all the way back to Macleod Trail. They had what looked like the ol’ asphalt ripper and they were possibly preparing to rip out some pavement leading up to the eastbound bridge deck. Cars coming down the ramp from Sundance and Chaparral were gridlocked and trying to merge into the stopped cars already on Stoney. It did not look like a happy place to be. What could they possibly be doing?

Almost got caught in it last night. Saw the breaklights and swerved into Chapparral -> Legacy - > 210ave -> 2A -> Dunbow Rd-> Hwy 2 -> Stoney Westbound. Probably saved myself 20 mins.
The Funny thing is, at the beginning of September when the westbound bridge re-opened, they had signs saying Lane closures Sept 3- Sept 13. On September 14th the sign said Lane closure Sept 3 - Sept 19. Today is the 20th.
Good news is that the westbound left lane is open, bad news is the right lane is now closed and is backing up traffic into the Mckenzie Lake / Cranton overpass at rush hour.

Go look at the traffic cameras right now. Eastbound is total gridlock at 10:52am on a Monday.
