Blocking the plate is literally the dumbest thing ever in baseball. They need to deal with that.

Yeah, if it's blatant and the catcher is literally just blocking any access to the plate that's one thing, but the whole thing with where their feet are is just idiotic. If there's a path to the plate for the runner should be the only issue.

Eventually Varsho will lean into one and hit a home run right? The guy hit 27 bombs last year!

Every ground ball by the jays is an out and it is the exact opposite for the Orioles

I think a better rule would be: “a runner is out if they dislodge the ball from the catcher if the original point of contact is not on the glove. Any contact with the catcher that is deemed to be intentional with the purpose of dislodging the ball is subject to ejection and supplemental discipline.” There is still grey area there but if a player knows that they can’t dislodge the ball with violent contact, I expect that they will not do it purposefully.

Not getting a real bat at the trade deadline might go down as one of the biggest management blunders in recent Blue Jays history.

I have so little faith in guys like Chapman that I’m kind of hoping they get plunked with a soft curveball.

I've never seen a baseball team in my lifetime struggle so much with runners in scoring position

Well there goes that opportunity. On a decently hitting team, Chapman is a 7 hitter. We’ve had Varsho, Belt, and Chapman in a cleanup role which tells you everything you know about how good our hitting is.

Just getting a sacrifice fly to make it a one run game with 3 innings left would of been huge.
