Got to play at Pinebrook today.
It's one of the better courses I've played in Calgary.

I played there a couple weeks ago and thought it was alright. I liked the course, but wasn’t blown away.

I only got to play three holes on the back before the storm came, but Inglewood is in amazing shape this year.
Can't wait to get back.

Finished my round this morning and found this car paked beside me. I would expect to see a Ferrari parked in some high end golf course parking lot in Calgary but certainly not Nanton. Go figure

Golf is so stupid. After shooting my handicap in league Thursday night, I Had my worst nine holes on Saturday in a looong time, followed it up with my best my back nine of the year... I'm normally between 88- 92 or so. Saturday shot 56 on the front, 20 over par. Shot 5 over 41 on the back, 15 strokes better!!

Myself(Dan) and seven other fine folks are attempting to golf for 24 hours straight to raise $10,000 for our local Health and Wellness Foundation. The money will mainly be used to support local volunteer fire departments.
There will be at least four of us glow ball golfing at all times through the nights. I am looking at three 2 hour breaks for a nap throughout the day, it should be painfully fun. Personal (unlikely) goal, will be to birdie every hole once.
If you feel like supporting us with a few dollars, tax receipts are provided. Thanks for having a look.

Played Greywolf on Sunday afternoon. They had quite a bit of damage to the fairways over the winter, have re-sodded a lot of it (the marshall mentioned he'd heard it was around $800k worth of work). Many fairways are still in rough shape. Greens were really good though.
Had a decent round for my first one of the year. It rained on us the first 5 holes but stopped and sun peeked out just as we got to the tee for Cliffhanger
Costs are up a bit this year, presumably to recoup some of the repair costs. Sunday afternoons are a decent deal though if you're around for the week as they give a "locals rate" - was $119/person with cart if I remember right.

Does it make it unplayable? Or really poor value? I have a tee time there on a group trip in July.. would play somewhere else if it’s not worth it.

I'd imagine it just needs a couple weeks to green up some more in the rougher spots. Definitely wasn't unplayable, was just discouraging when it's been so nice other years. But it was the earliest in the year I've golfed it so maybe it's not atypical.
Like I said, greens were in great shape so I think it's just early in their season.
Had I gone on Saturday and paid full price I might have been a bit more irritated by it.

Arrived in Portland yesterday and snuck out onto a local called Wildwood. Really fun course that places a high value on making accurate shots off the tee and into the greens. Conditions were nice and the greens rolled well. Had the Thurman Munsons all day long, but still managed to scramble around for a decent score on a “off-the-plane-learn-the-yardages” warm up round. Making the two and a half hour sojourn up I-5 to play Chambers Bay today. Hope I survive what the locals are telling me is the toughest golf course in Oregon or Washington. Should be fun!

I have a foursome at Kananaskis (Lorette) on Sunday at 4:12 that I can't use. Going to cancel today, but thought I'd see if anyone here wants it first.
(Or, if you have 3 and I can tag along as the 4th)

It's always sobering reading someone recap a round at a difficult, upper level course, that they're playing for the first time, recounting their follies that led to a 78.......my best score ever and only time breaking 80, at an easy course.
Bonus points for reading three terms you've never heard - "waste bunker with crazy faces" "three jacked for par" and "fast greens with chevys buried in them".

Pumpkin Ridge - Ghost Creek. Showed up 45 minutes early for tee time to take in the ambiance of the first LIV Tour site in North America. Bad idea. Lots of building of event sites going on, which shut down a lot of the place. Went into the shop to hear the four words you never want to hear before a round: The range is closed. So out to the course with no warm up and the skies threatening to open up. Threatening was an understatement as the rain started coming down as we approached the 1st green and didn’t let up all day. Didn’t matter. The golf course was in perfect condition.
Tee boxes, fairways, and greens were all like carpets. I hit what I thought was the middle of a green, but when we arrived at the surface the ball was just on to what was a front pin. The first cut was 40 yards deep and just perfect, looking like the green from the tee box 190 yards away. Just tremendous conditions where you were supposed to hit the ball. The other places? The rough was brutal. Miss the fairway and you’re shoes disappear as you step into the rough. Hacking it back out to the fairway was an understatement. I’ve played lots of courses around events, but nothing compares to this. The conditions were unmatched which really helped with the rain that came down all day. Ended up shooting a birdie free 81, but with the rough as deep and wet as it was I consider this an amazing score. Hit the ball better today than at Chambers, but the misses in the rough were instant penalty strokes and resulted in a worse score. I thought it would be tough to top Chambers Bay on this tour, but Ghost Creek gave it a run for its money. Tomorrow we’re off to the Reserve Vineyards… if the clubs dry out.

I played Belvedere and then a scramble at The Quarry this week in Edmonton. I like playing both courses. We got lucky with the weather.

I played Silver Springs on Thursday for the first time. Not a bad course. Few wonky holes and a pretty lame practice area. But all in all was a fun round. Good to get to play a private course here.
